Dear Friend of Harding Township School,

2020 is going to be a very exciting year for The Harding Township School (“HTS”) and we would love your support! The Harding Township Educational Foundation (“HTEF”) and the Parent Teacher Organization (“PTO”) together are hosting this year’s most vital fundraising event: the “STEM Spring Social.” We are hopeful that we can help fund a large portion of our STEM lab, which we are anticipating will be available to HTS students in the Fall of 2020. What is STEM? STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The STEM approach to education transforms the typical teacher-centered classroom by instead requiring students to actively engage a situation in order to find its solution. The new HTS STEM Lab will offer students a collaborative workspace where they can actively engage STEM curricula via inquiry-based, process-focused discovery, exploration and problem-solving of real-world dilemmas. Our STEM lab will be used to spark student innovation from as early as Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Students will create, design, build, discover and work together, while developing the critical reasoning and problem-solving skills they’ll need going forward. The STEM Lab - and the corresponding curriculum it empowers - is critical to ensure that HTS remains competitive with the top schools in the state, and that all HTS students are equipped with the necessary skills to remain at the forefront of an increasingly STEM-focused global job market. Other districts in our area that are already benefiting from a STEM-based curriculum are: Madison, Chatham, Bernardsville, and Mendham schools.

The STEM Spring Social will be held on Friday, May 10th at Roxiticus Golf Club, Mendham, NJ, at 7:30pm. The evening will include cocktails, dinner, LIVE music and dance, as well as a silent auction. We hope you can join us!

To support this endeavor via sponsorship or donation, please contact Abby Rosen at (703) 216-3439 or [email protected]. Donations and sponsorships can also be made through our website at www.STEMprojectHTS.com.

Many thanks for your generosity and support towards making our event the success we know it will be!

Sincerely, The STEM Spring Social Committee
