HAROLD NAPPER Newsletter June 23, 2011 Dear Parents and Families, Another school year comes to an end. We have had so much fun and excitement in becoming a “A Better Me”. The entire Harold Napper School community of teachers, students, parents and support staff ALL contributed in ensuring that HN continued to give their best effort and to be the very best day in and day out. This year at HN, there was so many “GOOD – BETTER - BEST” moments to look back on. From our colorful Opening Day and fast moving Zumba start-up in September, to our Sound of Music production in May, to our Jump Rope for Heart and Fun Day in June, all 10 months of the school year were filled with incredible moments. These special moments allowed us to go from “A Better Me” to “A Better Us” at HN! There were days to wear pyjamas, days to wear pink, and days to wear something red. There were times set aside to read, times to have a healthy smoothie at recess and times to discuss Sleep for Success.. Other days at lunchtime were spent knitting, scrap booking, doing arts & crafts and aerobics. We met authors, a war veteran and of course Santa Claus. A Para-Olympic athlete came, spoke and inspired us. We had a Benefit Concert at night, as well as an Evening of Song and Dance at the Sound of Music production. The first ever RSB/GLEE was hosted in the standing room only gym at HN. We advanced past the ABC’s to the RRR’s as we invited Miss Respect, Mr. Responsibility and Miss Ready to Work into the pit at HN. We continued to WALK- WALK-WALK all through the hallways of HN. We began to WHISPER – CHUCHOTTE . We continued Smash Tennis on Wednesdays at SaniSport and began GET MOVING every Tuesday morning. We were always ready to enjoy the performances of the Junior and Senior Rock Choirs and our school band l’harmonie. We had new discoveries with David Hodges musical experience, as well as the Blues from Adam Karch and Rapping from Jonathan Hypolite. What Also Made This “A Better Me” Type of Year? Congratulations and Bravo to our team of championship students who: -signed the Gold Book -received 3R certificates -participated in SSIAA -participated in Read for Succeed and Lecto-Midi -joined Action Conservation -participated in Jump Rope for Heart -won a Soni award
