Services: A free, telephone-based information and support service for adults with memory impairment, including Alzheimer’s and dementia, and friends or family who care for them. Community Care Services Program

CCSP serves low-income, frail persons of all ages in the 13 county service region. The program assists people who are elderly and/or functionally impaired to continue living in their homes and communities by offering personal support services, such as, adult day health, caregiver support, respite care, home delivered meals, emergency response systems, and basic personal care. The individual or family members along with the CCSP nurse and care coordinator will develop a care plan to prolong independence and avoid nursing home placement.

Hart Interdenominational Ministry (H.I.M.) is a collaboration of churches and social agencies in Hart County that connects people in need with appropriate help, support and education to address their personal, social and economic problems. Emergency financial assistance is provided as funds allow for utility bills, life-sustaining prescription medication, rent, or an unexpected expense that would have an adverse effect on earnings. Community Care Services Program

CCSP serves low-income, frail persons of all ages in the 13 county service region. The program assists people who are elderly and/or functionally impaired to continue living in their homes and communities by offering personal support services, such as, adult day health, caregiver support, respite care, home delivered meals, emergency response systems, and basic personal care. The individual or family members along with the CCSP nurse and care coordinator will develop a care plan to prolong independence and avoid nursing home placement.

AARP Free Tax-Aide

11 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Meets in the lower level of the Adult Learning Center adjoining the Library. Free Tax Assistance is provided by AARP Tax-Aide for low to moderate income citizens, with special attention given to seniors. All returns are computer prepared and fi led electronically, assuring taxpayers they will receive their refunds in about 10 day instead of the 6 weeks it takes for a paper return.

Hart County Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS)

The Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is the part of DHS that investigates child abuse; finds foster homes for abused and neglected children; helps low income, out-of-work parents get back on their feet; assists with childcare costs for low income parents who are working or in job training; and provides numerous support services and innovative programs to help troubled families. Family Independence: Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Food Stamps, Medicaid, and Child Care; Social Services: Adoption, Foster care for children and Child protective Services.
