Prayer Requests

If you have any of the above pastoral

needs, please contact your Parish Office.

As we gather today to reaffirm our faith in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, we are reminded that we are also the Body of Christ. The mis-

sion of the Gospel calls us to be Christ for others. There is so much brokenness and pain in our world. Many people are lost and feeling lonely, margin-

alized and oppressed, victimized and abused. Every time we receive the Body (and Blood) of Christ, we are asked to become what we eat. Are we

willing to step aside from our preoccupations and concerns so that we can be Christ for others? The power and presence of Christ in the Eucharist

becomes present in us. In receiving this transforming presence of Christ, we can truly effect change in the lives of those we meet. We can show them

God’s unconditional, ever-present love and the beauty that can come from loving others. We are given the grace to become temples of justice and

peace, carrying God’s sacred Presence within us wherever we go.

LIVING THE LITURGY

Page 2: Harvest Hope

Corpus Christi

This Feast is properly called the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and

Blood of Christ. The readings call us to reflect on how the sacrifice of

Jesus Christ is the living covenant, made once and for all, which

redeems us and makes us God’s own. In the words of Vatican II

document, Sacro sanctum Concilium 47 “The Eucharist is the

efficacious sign and sublime cause of that communion in the divine life

and that unity of the People of God by which the Church is kept in

being. It is the culmination both of God’s action sanctifying the world in

Christ and of the worship we offer to Christ and through him to the

Father in the Holy Spirit.”

Invitation to Make Adoration a Part of your

Spiritual Practice

Corpus Christi is a good time to consider the value of regular

participation at Adoration. Those who dedicate an hour each week to

adoration find it to be a renewing and peaceful time of prayer that

opens a space in our lives for Christ to fashion us into his own image.

Fr. Martin Lucia of the Apostolate for Perpetual Adoration suggestions,

“Is Jesus important enough to you to set aside one special hour each

week to be with him? Just one hour, once a week, is all that He is

asking. This is a simple matter of first things first. ‘In everything you

do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with

success.’” (Prov. 3:6) Our parishes offer regular hours each week.

Come and take part!

Harvest of Hope Pastoral Council

Our ACC pastoral council will have their regular meeting this June 10

th

.

They will continue conversations on implementing our strategic plan

and ACC connection to Holy Family School. They will also be reading

the book Rebuilt and discussing what it means to invite people back to

full participation in our churches at this time. This is a time of hope,

and we pray that the Spirit may guide us to a new phase of faith, hope,

and love. If you have an item for the council to discuss, please contact

one of your parish’s representatives.

Setting out on a Summer of Spiritual Growth

Since we are securely into the month of June, it is also a good time to

focus on our spiritual and relational health. Is it a time to return to

Mass safely? Is it a time to volunteer in the various ministries? Is it a

time for learning for yourself, your children? Is it a time to begin

coming to adoration, or to develop your personal prayer life. Make

sure you take time for a vacation, for family gatherings, and for picnics

this summer, but also take advantage of the relatively less crowded

days to pursue the healing and hope you need through renewed

commitment to your faith.

Scripture Quote for the Week

Taking the book of the covenant, Moses read it aloud to the people,

who answered, "All that the LORD has said, we will heed and do."

Then he took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, saying,

"This is the blood of the covenant

that the LORD has made with you

in accordance with all these words of his."

COVID-19 UPDATES

As the Covid restrictions ease, we are beginning to provide more

spiritual support to the residents at Mother of Mercy. Deacon Jeff would

appreciate if any parishioners would be able to help distribute

Communion at chapel services or to residents in their rooms.

We would also like to have volunteers willing to visit residents in their

rooms. These are wonderful and much needed works of mercy! Simple

training is provided.

Please contact Deacon Jeff at Mother of Mercy and leave a message or

contact him directly at 320.492.9226. God Bless You.

Pickup choir for Outdoor Mass

Our choir is on a break from rehearsals for the summer, but we

welcome any singers or instrumentalists to join us in leading the music

at our 8:30am outdoor Masses this summer. Adults, young people, and

The more, the merrier! You can find the music for the upcoming week

posted at our music ministry website with recordings and pdfs of the

score for you to follow along. Please print your own copies – we have

folders you can use if you don’t have one handy. (If you need help print-

ing copies, please let Abbey know in advance.) We will have a brief check

in/warm up at 8:15 before Mass starts at 8:30.

Faith Formation

Thank You!!

Thank you to all the catechists who helped feed the souls of

our young students this year. This year brought a lot of

uncertainty, and many times we did not know what the next

week held. You each gave your best to the parish as disci-

ples of Christ. Your presence here is a gift to the Church but

also a sign that all will be well. We pray that each of you return for a hopeful new

year in the fall.

Parents, thank you for keeping the faith growing in your homes! Faith is what

has got each of us through a time of unknowns. You took on your baptism call

and helped your children grow as the disciples we are each called to be. Thank

you for your patience as we worked through this difficult year.

Service Hour Opportunities

Students in grades 7 to 10 need 20 hours of community/church service. The

hours need to be documented and signed by the person in charge of the event.

This summer is a great time to complete these hours.

Church festivals service hours. Saint Benedict’s festival is July 11 and Seven

Dolors is August 8. There is also work the week before each of these events.

Mother of Mercy can always use help—Tuesday and Thursday Bingo, Church

services on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, transporting residents

to events and visiting with residents. If these are things you would like to try,

please call Kristi Imdieke at 320-845-5522.

Holy Family SchoolCamp Invention program the week of June 14-18. Call

the school office at 845-2011.

Other options: the Animal Shelter, libraries, food shelves, the Treasure Chest

store, and other local charity groups. These options are also available for stu-

dents who are looking for hours in NHS. Don’t wait until summer is over! Please

watch the bulletin for areas needing help.

Remember to pick up a service-hour form located on Toni’s door to have filled

out and signed. You can return the slip to the same location you picked it up.
