Asimple act of thoughtfulness has grown into a free clothing shop knownas the “We’ve Got Your Back Shack,” sponsored by Reaching OurCommunity’s Kids with Support, or Delton ROCKS. Housed in the
Delton Kellogg Middle School, The Shack has grown into a source of assistancefor students, adults, and even for area agencies for victims of fire, unemploy-ment, sickness or other uncalamities. Today, students volunteer to work at TheShack and even have found the welcoming comfort of its surroundings as a placeto ‘hang out.’ Shown checking out new donations and chatting about accessoriesare Delton Kellogg Middle School student volunteers, (from left) MarandaDonahue, Noelle Vroegop and Esther Ordway. This year’s Leadership BarryCounty class also has decided to take on The Shack as its community serviceproject. To read more about how The Shack is providing a working example ofcompassion in a community, look inside.
