We are now collecting box tops, Labels for Education and Tyson la-bels for the 2012/2013 school year. Collection sheets will be sent home soon and can be found at www.boxtops4education.com or the Hernando Elementary PTA website. Fill up a sheet with box tops, put your child’s name and teacher’s name on the sheet, and return via his/her folder. HES set a school record last year for most box tops collected, so start saving

those box tops. Our goal this year is $4,000 redeemed. The PTA is also collecting Labels for Education. A com-plete list of items that contain these labels can be found at labelsforeducation.com. Please send these labels along with Tyson labels in your child’s folder via a Ziploc bag labeled with your child’s name,

Hat Day Aug 31stPay $1 and wear a hat. On the last Friday of every month, send $1 and your child can wear their favorite hat, tiara, or head-covering to school on that day. 100% of the proceeds go to the PTA.

Aug. 14th City Saver Coupon Book Kick-Off The 2013 City Saver Coupon Book is filled with over 400 pages of high value coupons from your favorite local restaurants, fun stuff and select retailers. Most coupons are buy-one-get-one free or 50% off. The book sells for $25 and our school will make 50% for every book sold. The deadline to turn in order forms is Sept. 4th. Prizes include a Sonic coupon for selling just one book. Sell three books for an ice cream truck party during school. Prizes also include Malco movie passes, class pizza parties

and a limo ride for your child and 10 of their friends by selling even more! Mys-tery prizes will be awarded throughout the sale. So send in orders as you get them to be entered into the drawings. If you have any questions call Amanda Uselton at 901-485-6112.

Dear Parents, Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year. Thank you so much for helping with the smooth transition to paperless registration. Our drop off times are 7:05 am - 7:40 am. Tardy bell rings at 7:40 am. The duty person-nel come inside at 7:40 am. If you drop-off in the back and it is after 7:40 am, please make your way around front and walk your child in to the building. Our dis-missal bell is at 2:30 pm. We will begin to load buses at 2:20 pm and cars after that. I want to wish us all a safe and productive year.

HES T-shirt on Sale NOWThe 2012-2013 t-shirts are on sale now. Order forms have gone home already. If you need another form go to the PTA link on the Hernando Elementary website. Shirts are available in sizes youth small - Adult 3XL. All shirts are $12. Add $3 for a 2XL and 3XL. Shirts are available until supplies run out.

The 2013 yearbook will go on sale Tuesday, September 4th. We are offering an Early Bird Special for $25. This special will be valid Sept. 4th - Sept. 20th. After this date the yearbook price will increase to $30. The HES
