Dear Hawkins Families,
Wow! Are we in full swing of school events and activities now! Our
volleyball season begins this week with all of our teams playing
against each other on Tuesday afternoon. I encourage everyone to
come out and show their support for our volleyball teams. Thank
you to our volunteer parent and staff coaches that have made this
season possible. We truly appreciate what you are providing for
our students. We’ll see you on the volleyball court! You can see our
volleyball schedule in our weekly newsletter for upcoming games.
This week we have our first grade level data meeting where teachers
meet to discuss how our students are progressing towards grade
level standards. This is a valuable time for teachers to collaborate
and plan their instruction according to our students’ needs. This
process helps Hawkins students and teachers on their path to suc-
cess. Soon the CDE will be releasing our CST scores along with the
API, I look forward to sharing that information with parents.
Please look for an evening date to hear how Hawkins progressed
last year in all areas.
Our 6th graders will be off to Science Camp in a few short weeks,
October 15th is the big day! The past two years, I have been able to
visit them at Science Camp and experience some great natural won-
ders. I look forward to doing that again this year. Our 6th grade
students will be individually selling Texas Roadhouse meals to help
them raise money for their Science Camp fees. So if anyone knows
a 6th grader, help them out by purchasing a great meal from Texas
Roadhouse! I know they will appreciate your support. For more
information see the flyer in our newsletter.
Friday was our first picture day! It was wonderful seeing all of our
students dressed to show their best smiles! This day wouldn’t be
possible without our parent volunteers. Thank you to: Jennifer
Farian, Ceci O’Sullivan, Michelle Farmer and Leslie Parks for
helping this day go as smoothly as possible!
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, com-
ments or concerns.
Best Regards,
Stephanie Gregson
Principal

Scrip is a program where you can buy "gift cards" to either give as gifts or use them for your everyday shop-ping or dining. A portion of the purchase price will go to help out the school. For example, you buy a Chili's card
for $25 and 11% or $2.75 will go to Hawkins School. Or-ders are placed once a month, usually on the 1st. Order
forms with our most popular cards are in the office or go to GLScrip.com to check out the full list. Place your or-der and check made out to HPFC in the drawer in the office by the due date and that's it! I also have some
local cards on hand at all times. Any questions or to see what cards I have please e-mail me at
