Now Collecting Cleaning Kit/Flood Bucket Donations!

Today’s altar flowers are given in honor and celebration of Dr. Sheila Bookout’s ministry, friendship, and leadership at

Haygood Memorial United Methodist Church.

Friends, we are now collecting cleaning kit/flood bucket donations. Every year Haygood comes together to support UMCOR—the United Methodist Committee on Relief—by collecting supplies that support individuals and families that have been impacted by natural disasters or other life changing events. With the recent damage from Hurricane Harvey and the impending danger of Hurricane Irma, your donations are needed. Each week we will ask for specific donations; however, feel free to donate any items included on the UMCOR insert in your bulletin. Thank you in advance for your support. If you have any questions please contact Wally Rice, [email protected].

This Week’s Donation Items

Dishwashing liquid (NO LARGER THAN 16-28oz, in a plastic bottle)

Pairs of reusable kitchen plastic gloves

Cans of air freshener (aerosol or pump)

Parents, Hoops registration has only been open for a few days, and we need to see where the greatest demand will fall and then we will be adding teams based on our gym availability for practice time slots and additional games. We are looking at making those decisions very soon. But still, know that there will still be movement on the lists. There will definitely be single spots opening up, we've already had kids approved to play up or down, which creates spots. We've had some withdrawals, which also creates spots. All that to say, please be patient and bear with us, as we work to accommodate the greatest number of kids we can and keep the high quality of the program intact. Stay tuned and check www.haygoodumc.org regularly for the latest updates.
