Successful application for support from BIG Lottery Fund.
£9,000 – 17 person-days.
Strategic review facilitated by Julian Lomas of Almond Tree Strategic Consulting.
Intensive work by the Trustees.
Monthly meetings, plus teleconferences & lots of emails!

Bursaries for first-time attendees at National Conference.

Sustainable Funding
Concentrate on 3 principal areas:
Corporate Support:
Increase advertising revenues.
Increase event sponsorship.
Seek CSR funding.
Trusts and Foundations:
Trial general appeal to small and family trusts and foundations.
Public Fundraising:
Online donations.
Fundraising events with Patron/Ambassadors.
Avoid conflict with members’ fundraising efforts.
Our Vision for HBA
Aim is to have eliminated deficit by end of FY 2017/18.
Fundamentals Trustees focus on governance and strategic direction: Maintain oversight of day-to-day operations, but delegate
delivery to executive management.
Where Trustees take on other tasks, they do so as an “ordinary” volunteer, not as a Trustee.
Committees replaced by named individuals and teams. Small permanent teams supplemented by “task and finish”
groups to deliver specific products.
Decisions made in a timely manner at the appropriate level. No more indecision and lack of action.
