Tutorial Treble Clef !
The Treble Clef is also known as the G Clef. When drawing the Treble Clef we start on the G line to
draw it. The Treble Clef is used for higher instruments such as Flutes, Oboes, Trumpets and Violins.
The pitch of the notes depends on two things.
Which Clef is used and where the note is on the Stave.
Tutorial
Grade 1 Music Theory
It is also important to remember that as notes go up the stave, they get higher in pitch.
The pattern also follows the 1st 7 letters of the ALPHABET (ABCDEFGABCDE etc)
E on the bottom line, F in the 1st space etc.
To remember the notes on
the 5 lines, there is a
saying. Every, Good, Boy,
Deserves, Football.
To remember the notes in
the 4 spaces the notes
spell the word FACE.
The second line is
the G line and this is
where the Treble
Clef is started.
Ledger Lines
Notes can be drawn above and below the
stave. These are written on or between
Ledger lines. For Grade 1 you
will only need to
know 1 ledger
line below the
stave.
Middle C
Middle C is written
like this in the Treble
Clef. It is important to
know where this note
is in all the Clefs (in
later grades).
