It was during this growth period that Jim Savage, the Pastor of Cross Keys Baptist Church, and Randy Windham felt God leading them to provide a full-time ministry to the growing number of HBWT families and friends. Randy resigned his position at Cross Keys and became full-time Pastor of Have Bible Will Travel Fellowship in January 2002.

God has lead many people to HBWT, but one man was set apart for a special role in this church body. A special bond formed between Pastor Randy and HBWT member, Pat Rankin. Pat and his wife Vicky’s lives were miraculously transformed by God and Pat began leading bible studies and growing spiritually as he studied under Pastor Randy’s guidance and Godly counsel. It was evident that God was moving in a mighty way in Pat’s life. In January 2006 Pat Rankin was ordained a minister of the Gospel by Pastor Randy. Currently Pat Rankin serves as the full-time Pastor of HBWT.

Today there is one or more weekly in-home bible studies, Wednesday night Fun & Fellowship and our Sunday morning Worship Celebration. On Sunday, we have two identical services at the Bridgeton location, which offers a comfortable and casual environment with contemporary music by Praizor’s Edge and the Praise Team.

We share the same backgrounds of success and failures, joys and hurts, with a desire to apply God’s direction in our lives. We are just ordinary people who encourage one another through fellowship and the truth of God’s word. We welcome you!

About UsWhile Pastor Randy Windham was serving as the Minister of Education at Cross Keys

Baptist Church, the fiance of a biker friend, Jim Davis, was murdered in 1996. At the

funeral, Randy met many who did not know the love of God and so he started a

bible study at the home of Jim Davis.

This study ministered to those who were not comfortable in a traditional church environment. This study grew and two

years later another bible study was started in a tatoo parlor. God blessed this ministry

and Have Bible Will Travel began other in-home bible studies. All of these initial

studies were held on Tuesday evenings. In the spring of 2000, HBWT began holding

“backyard bible studies” at different area homes.

In 2001, the tatoo parlor closed, but God already had a new location planned. An

opportunity arose for HBWT to hold a monthly bible study in a Bridgeton biker

bar named Cadillac Jacks, now known as, Jack’s Iron Horse Bar & Grill. This bible study, along with other Tuesday night

home studies is still going strong! We have a new biker bar that we are working with

in the city, Shady Jack’s.
