Prairie View A&M University College

Preview Day.

The Upward Bound Students attended Col-

lege Preview Day at Prairie A&M University.

The students had the opportunity to visit with

each degree department of their choice as

well as attend work shops on college entry,

financial aid, student activities and much

more. The students were also treated to a

student pep rally and attended the college

football game after the sessions. Prairie

View A&M is a beautiful campus and the

students really had a great time during their

visit .

STEM SYMPOSIUM

Our students had an exciting day attending

the University of Houston STEM Symposium

this semester. Students attended sessions

that were chosen to be aligned with STEM

careers. Students were able to network with

the presenters, which included retired and

active-duty veterans, civilian professionals in

the public sector, and representatives

from UH and Houston Community College.

The goal is to make the students aware of

the vast prospects within STEM fields and

assist them with navigating their educational

path in those areas successfully.

Winner of the Ugly Sweater Contest

The holiday season is upon us and we like to get our students in-

volved in many hands on projects outside of the core curriculum

during this time. Students participated in an Arts & Crafts period, in

which they were able to design and decorate sweaters. The photo

is of the Winner of the Annual Ugly Sweater Contest. All of the

sweaters showed great creativity and exemplary effort.
