Rosenberger HDCS provides customer with fiber optic
cables for premise cabling solutions which are designed to
exceed the standard requirements of IEC11801, EN50173
and EIA/TIA568B. The performance of cabling system is
determined by the key parameters such as attenuation and
bandwidth.
The optical output power is reduced continuously when light
is propagating down an optical fiber. This signal decrease
scaled to length is measured in dB/km. Low attenuation
values allow longer link distances without a reduction of
system performance or active signal amplification.
Bandwidth is the parameter which refers to the data transfer
capacity. It is generally decreasing with increasing cable
length. A fiber optic multimode cable is specified by the

GYTA53 Direct Buried Armored Fiber Cable
Feature and Benefit
The Rosenberger GYTA53 armored heavy duty outdoor fiber
optical cable can be for long-distance telecommunication
application, as trunk cables between telecommunication
central stations and campus backbone.
This cable has a small bending radius and good flexibility
with the fibers in the tube, excellent tensile and crush
resistance performance, and is longitudinally water-resistant
and moisture proof. It can be up to 144 fibers capacity.
Option
An longitudinally placed identification tape marked with
customer name to be placed with the cable. Alternatively it
can be printed in core wrapping or on polyethylene layer over
the central strength member.

Fiber optic patch cords and pigtails, both simplex and duplex
versions, are mainly used to link up with patch panels and
connect outlets and work terminals. Fiber optic pigtails,
which are supplied with a connector on one side, are used
when dividing up multifiber optic cables by splicing.
Preferred are fiber optic cables, that are flame retardant
and have halogen free jacket. The connectors attached to
the cable meet the various standards according to IEC.
Fixing of the fiber in the ferrule is done using an epoxy glue

process. A highly developed polishing procedure for PC/APC
cuts, as well as the cuts of multifiber connectors, guarantees a
minimum insertion loss, as well as a high return loss. The

MTRJ connector system offers an increase in packing
density of 50%. The ferrule of an MTRJ connector, unlike
the common ST and SC connectors, encompasses 2 fibers.
The MTRJ connectors belong to the category of the
Small Form Factor connector (SFF). Compatible to the
copper based RJ-45 interface. The compatibility of RJ-45
with MTRJ systems supports a simple and defined change
over from copper technology to fiber optic technology
(e.g. Fiber To The Desk), without changing the distribution
panels and outlets.

The fiber optic couplers are used to link fiber optic connectors
terminated on a fiber optic cable and are usually mounted in
19” patch panels and wall outlets. HDCS couplers provide a
save, low Insertion Loss interconnection because the
fiber is precisely aligned by a ceramic sleeve. The metal
body ST- and SC-couplers guarantee a high mechanical
long-term stabil i ty and reproducible mating. The
Small-Form-Factor LC and MT-RJ-coupler enable an
increase of density by 100% through interconnecting two
fibers provided by the referring MT-RJ and LC-duplex
connector.
HDCS offers all industry standard fiber optic adapters,
which can be used for fiber patch panel front interface or
simple joint of two fiber optic connectors.

Rosenberger HDCS Crimp
Fiber Optic ConnectorsRosenberger HDCS crimp fiber optic connectors enable a
rapid and easy field termination. They are available for the
standard connectivity systems ST, FC and SC, as well as
for Small Form Factor connectors LC and MT-RJ. These
connectors contain a pre-polished fiber stub. The result is
a time saving crimping termination process requiring no
polishing, no epoxying and power supply.

Increasing bandwidth and security demands in Local Area
Networks (LANs) lead to a shift form copper to fiber optic
solutions. In future installations not only the campus and
building backbone of a LAN is implemented in fiber optic
but also Fiber-To-The-Desk (FTTD) with be a frequently
requested solution.
The term Fiber-To-The-Desk (FTTD) is used to describe
the horizontal cabling in the areas of data transmissions and
telecommunication, which leads from the floor distributor to
the outlets at the workplace. In the standards ISO/IEC 11801
and EN50173 it is the tertiary level.
Rosenberger HDCS offers such solutions for Fiber-To-The-
Desk (FTTD) by providing field installable connectivity sys-
tem and fiber optic outlets/aceplates.

Rosenberger HDCS CAT.6 keystone jack is a part of the
HDCS Cabling system, applicable to all structure hardware
designs of this series. It can be installed on various
faceplate, surface mounting box and modular panels. It
can support all application of CAT.5, CAT.5e and CAT.6
classes including 10Base, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet,
155ATM, 622ATM and1.2GATM.

HDCS 110 interconnect system is designed for unshielded
premise cabling system with excellent performance and
easy installation, compatible with all HDCS 110 blocks,
meanwhile having extremely high flexibility, adaptability and
maximally integrated designing for voice solution. It is available
in wall mounted and rack versions.
Connecting terminals on cables in modularized unit
design, used to connect cables between horizontal cabling
and telecommunication closet and only need to add module
units. For expansion instead of replacing with a bigger
one, 1, 2, 4, 5-pair jumpers are provided for flexible
combination.

The FlexField consists of a number of various
modules that can handle a variety of cables
and connectors.
- Mix of Module
The FlexField is modular and incremental in its design.
Different types of modules-for different connectors/cables
can be in the same subrack, start with the number of modules
you need for the moment, just partly fill the subrack. Add
modules as the need grows.
- Access to All Connector
Due to the patented cable management there is always
easy front access to all connections. The cable management
creates a built in cable slack that allows the module to be
extracted a minimum of 30cm from it’s original position,
even at full installation.
FlexField is the most flexible and modular connection
system. It handles coaxial, pair and fiber optic cables. It
meets telecom standard G.703 and handles data - Ethernet
CAT.6. The FlexField is built on modules and fits small as
well as big systems.
FlexField Concept/Feature- Safe Maintenance/Quick Access
No stress on the connectors when moving the modules,
the cables are mechanically fixed to the modules.
- 19” and ETSI Racks/Cabinet
The subracks have adjustable mounting ears to fit both
19" and ETSI racks/cabinets.

Patch cords are strictly managed and well protected. The

In an STP cabling there is always a risk for unwanted DC-
current in the Shield due to varying ground potentials in the
building. It causes a current to flow in the cable shields
and it may give lower capacity in your network. To avoid it
there is a module with built in DC-barrier.

The modules handle 12 fibers each. They go into various
size subracks. Thus, a wall mounted 12 fiber outlet can be
built and also an ODF handles many hundreds of fibers.
An ODF for the trunk network can be built. An ODF for fiber
to the X, can also be built. All have in common: service
friendly, always access to all connectors and splices.
- Variety of Cable
Patch cords and breakout cables are terminated directly in
the module. Installation cables-cables with unprotected
fibers have to be installed in a cable splitter before entering
the module. In the cable splitter the cable is mechanically
fixed and the length of 2m of each fiber is put in a protective
flexible tube (12 fibers per tube).

- Flexibility of Cable
This tube enters the module. Splicing and fan-out of ribbon
is done in the module. The excess length of the tube is
stocked in a special storage compartment within the
subrack. By using this excess of the tube each module
can be extracted 1.5m from the subrack, thus allowing for
splicing work conveniently done at worktable.
Blown fiber can also be handled. The microducts are
terminated to an adaptor. This adaptor fits into existing
holes in the subrack. The flexible tubes are inserted in the
free end of the adaptors. The fiber is blown in. The white
tubes with fibers are handled in the modules as described
above.
