Interested in Electronic Payments
to the Church?
The easiest way to make this happen is
through e-Bill-Pay at your local bank. Most
banks have this electronic bill payment option.
You can make a one-time payment or setup
recurring payments. This option has no cost
associated for the donor or the recipient. This
is not a draft; they actually send a paper check
to the church on your behalf. Call Anita
432-3191 if you have any questions.

Opening Thoughts By Rev. Steve A. Patterson, Jr.
Our Strategic Planning Group has begun their work. They have met twice and are prayerfully and thoughtfully discerning future direction for our church. Their job is to study the church and present a proposal to the Church Council regarding how we should position ourselves for growth, taking into account current and future needs. They are also remembering and honoring our collective past, because that is part of who we are, too.
In order to get input from as many church members and visitors as possible, the group is providing opportunities for you to share your dreams and vision for LSUMC. Watch for surveys, visit Sunday morning interview stations, participate in Sunday school class visit discussions, or answer their questions when they make direct contact…just make sure you get the chance to share. They will receive information for a few months and then use what they have gathered to shape a plan for future development. Here are the members of the group: Rebecca Edens, Diane Fulcher, Jeffrey Graham, Bobby Inabinet, Frank Laney, Mark Mohr, Lucy Rabb, Charlotte Rankin, Paul Sullivan, Donnie Wilson. Thank you for praying for them. May God grant us — as a united congregation — the insight, courage, commitment, and resources necessary to claim and become all that God wants us to be.

Rise Against Hunger (Stop Hunger Now) Meal-Packaging Event
On Wednesday, October 11th, from 4 to 6 pm, the global missions committee plans to have a meal-packaging event to bag at least 10,000 meals for starving people in developing countries. This will be a wonderful global outreach project for our
church. We will need $2,900.00 to provide 10,000 meals and 40 volunteers to package the meals. Individuals can donate and/or volunteer by clicking on the Stop Hunger Now link on our church website. Let us work together as a caring church to feed starving people in developing countries!
