We want to extend a joyful Easter greeting to you, Dear Member, and invite you to turn the pages in our Easter issue of Faith Magazine. This time of year offers an opportunity to reflect on and revitalize our faith. And what better way to do than read through the pages of this FAITH with the theme “He Leadeth Me.” Yes, God leads us in a variety of ways, Dear Friend. He leads by example, in the loving tender- ness of His teachings. He leads us through His wisdom, when we seek His counsel through prayer. that try to push and bend usaway from God’s influence. Butif we stay strong and resist thatpull away from Him, we will berewarded with His loving guid-ance. Member Max V. from Florida

writes on Page 7 that he foundout the hard way no one caresabout you more than your familyand the Lord, when he and hisbrother joined a violent gang. Ashis brother lay in a hospital bedrecovering from a bad beating,Max recalled, “Now, I realizeGod led me and my brother backfrom the brink of tragedy. I amso grateful He loved us enoughto do that.”On Page 5, you will learn

about the ways in which Godprovides leadership. . .by decree, helping us to discern the situa-tion, directing us where weshould go or what we should do,and by declaration. And on Page 12, Member

Coleen E. from the island nationof the Seychelles writes she hes-itated to tell anyone atFellowship about the financialproblems she and her husbandwere having after their businessfailed. With bills mounting upand no way to pay them, Coleenwas depressed until Godanswered her prayers with theoffer of a catering job. “We have been blessed to have

the offer to start other business-es, but still have no income tostart them,” she wrote. “Myfriends, we need your prayers forfinancial help now. Still, God hasblessed us and I am astounded by

the power of prayer and the wayHe works.”And that’s the core message of

this Easter edition of FAITH. It’sthat you can see God’s goodworks in our lives, you just needto look for them and train your-self to see the opportunities Heoffers to better yourself andstrengthen your faith. God Leads Us To Improve OurLives In Many Different Ways! The Bible tells how God leads

us in Psalms 23:1-3 . . . “The LORD is my shepherd; I

shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in

green pastures: He leadeth mebeside the still waters . . . He restoreth my soul: He lead-

eth me in the paths of righteous-ness for His name's sake.”Yes, Dear Member, God leads

us to be people of faith, to liveour lives in harmony with Histeachings. And when we do that,as the Bible says, our souls arerestored and we have what weneed to be content in His Eyes. But you might ask, how does

God lead you, and all of ourFellowship Friends? For Hedoesn’t show up at your doorwith great fanfare. Instead, Hisleadership is evident in severaldifferent ways. The first is called leading by

“Decree,” when the Lord puts ina situation and designs the cir-cumstances so we carry out Hisplans. This could be somethingas simple as a day when youmiss your regular bus or train, and have to take another routeto get to work. You might findyourself sitting next to someonewho could use prayer help fromFellowship’s Special HelpDepartment, which could turntheir lives around. Another way God leads us is

by “Direction.” This is pretty

straightforward in the Bible, forexample, when He provides usthe teachings He wants us to fol-low. The Ten Commandmentsare a good example of this kindof leadership. The Lord also leads by helping

us “Discern” how the meaningof a Bible passage applies to anyparticular situation we may bein. Then, He guides us throughprayer so that we naturally fol-low His advice about what wemust do to change our circum-stances. Finally, God sometimes leads

us by “Declaration.” This iswhen He simply states what weneed to do. For example, afterMoses led the Israelites out ofEgypt, they became hungry. So,the Lord declared unto Moses,“Behold, I will rain bread fromheaven for you; and the peopleshall go out and gather a certainrate every day, that I may provethem, whether they will walk inMy law, or no.” (Exodus 16:4)So you see, Dear Friend, God

leads us along His path in manyways. It is up to us to recognizeHis loving guidance!

I was what you’d call a “wildchild.” Always into somethingwhen I was younger, and intotrouble as I got older. My motherwas a lifelong Member ofFellowship, and she tried to keepme on a straight path. But backthen, I didn’t appreciate that mymom was working hard, tryingto keep our family together. Itwas challenging to just keep aroof over our heads, since myfather went away and left us.Looking back, I guess my rebel-lious nature reared its headbecause I was angry about mydad leaving. But it sure took mea long time to figure that out.Worst of all, it almost cost mybrother’s life. As I said, I began rebelling

when I was young. First, I’drefuse to do the chores my moth-er asked me to do. Later, I stolethings and got into fights. Then,I joined a gang. Yes, I was the classic angry

kid, ripe for a gang to swoop inand talk me into joining theirgroup. I fell for it, thinking Iwould finally belong some-where. I even got my kid brother, who was only a year youngerthan me, to become a gang mem-ber. My mom was horrified, of

course. I remember how shecried and pleaded with us toleave the gang. They were a badinfluence, she said, and she wasafraid something awful would

happen to us.She was right. One of the

gang’s tests for new recruits wasa hazing ceremony in which sev-eral members beat up the newguys. My brother went first, andI watched them hit him over andover, until he stopped moving. Iran to him and he was barelybreathing. The gang membersscattered and I called 911. Icursed myself for getting mybrother into this mess, and forthe first time in years, I prayedaloud to God. “Please, Lord, savemy brother’s life,” I pleaded. Suddenly, the Lord opened my

eyes to how I had messed up myentire life, and I vowed to turn itaround. My brother got betterover a couple weeks in the hospi-tal, and I called my mom to apol-ogize and beg forgiveness. Shewas so happy! Once my brotherwas well, we both came home toreunite with mom and help heraround the house. She revealedshe had also prayed for ourreturn. Now, I realize God led meand my brother back from thebrink of tragedy. I am so gratefulHe loved us enough to do that.

Dear Fellowship Friends, Iwould like to thank God for youand the wonderful work you havebeen doing through the years. Iwould also like to thank you foryour service to the World. I grewup seeing my grandmother, thenmy mother, reading FaithMagazine and the numerousprayers and other literature yousent to them. I also have been cor-responding with you for manyyears now, and know of the won-derful things Fellowship hasdone in my life, and how youalways help to remind me thatthere is a Supreme Being in con-trol of our lives in a positive way. I would like to share a little

information about myself. Myhusband and I have been facing ahard time since our businessclosed through no fault of ours, and there are a lot of suppliers, staff and other bills to pay withno source of income. We havebeen trying to get another busi-ness going, and applied for thefranchise of a catering business. We were just at the point of giv-

ing up and deciding to move onfrom there, when my husband

cleared the mailbox the same dayand brought home my correspon-dence from Life-StudyFellowship! He said, “I knowthese will cheer you up!” I was sodown and worried that I reluc-tantly opened my mail, which Iam normally excited to get, andsaw a birthday card from you anda paper saying you would like toknow what is happening in mylife. I put them away, and said tomyself, “Lord, how do I writethese people and burden themwith our problems? They haveenough to deal with already.Lord, I have no good news to tellthem.”About five minutes after that,

my husband came in from thegarden all smiles and said,“Guess what? I just got a call andwe won the franchise for the cafe-teria!” I was so happy I immedi-ately took up my FAITH, held itto my chest and started to cryand pray, giving thanks to God. Isaid, “God, now I can write myFellowship Friends and tell themsomething positive!”

We have been blessed to havethe offer to start other business-es, but still have no income tostart them. My friends, we needyour prayers for financial helpnow. Still, God has blessed us andI am astounded by the power ofprayer and the way He works.

You might not realize this,Dear Friend, but when you joinyour Fellow Members in sayingFellowship’s Three DailyPrayers you are praying aroundthe World! Yes, that’s right, thepower of our united prayersreaches thousands of milesaround the globe, as ourMembers pray for and with oneanother.

That means those powerfulprayers are being said in scoresof different languages in coun-tries and continents such asAmerica, Canada, SouthAmerica, Japan and nations inEurope; as well as the islands ofthe Caribbean, Bahamas,Seychelles, and Jamaica.

So you see, when you partici-pate in our Daily Prayers, youare praying with someone on theother side of the World! Youactually are joining that personon a spiritual quest to seekblessings for your FellowMembers, which makesFellowship a very special place.

Though we may have very dif-ferent lives, and live under dif-ferent governments and differ-ent laws, we all want the samethings -- God’s guidance, pros-perity, good health and happi-ness. Yes, those desires areshared World-wide, Dear Friend. And you know what else? God

stands ready to help us reach forall those good things in life. Nomatter how much money orpower we have, He listens to ourprayers and loves us all thesame.

It could be said thatFellowship’s united DailyPrayers reach around the Worldlike a ripple of water. It startswith a small drop, then expandsout toward the horizon until itreaches a distant shore.Eventually, the “ripples” cast byyour own prayers touch the rip-ples of your Fellow Members, creating a rising wave of voicesall reaching up toward the Lord.

That wave of prayer is theroot of Fellowship’s strength,Dear Member! We hope you willjoin us each day!

God’s kindness is well knownand extraordinary, which is whyyou may hear people speak ofthe Lord’s “loving-kindness,”Dear Member.

The Bible often speaks ofGod’s love for us, and His teach-ing that we be kind to one anoth-er as well. As the Holy Book saysin Ephesians 4:32: “And be yekind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sakehath forgiven you.”So the question is, how can we

best follow God’s lesson of kind-ness? Well, one way to do that isto join what we like to call the“Kindness Club.” This is simply a friendly

movement to be kind to othersand treat them with respect. Itinvolves being sincere and radi-ating the kind feelings we wouldwant to receive from others. Inother words, treat people likeyou yourself would want to betreated. It’s an easy, simple wayto live our lives, and brings thebest behavior out of others. A member of the “Kindness

Club” would naturally be gentle, tolerant, polite, charitable, fair, sympathetic, merciful and lov-ing with everyone he or she con-tacts. Those who belong to thisgroup don’t speak harshly, andcertainly wouldn’t take part inhating someone else, or cheat-ing, slandering, being cruel oracting selfish. When you think about it, this

really means just trying to bethe best person you can be, DearFriend. Just let your consciencebe your guide, and ask yourselfhow you would want to be treat-ed in any situation that arises. And here’s another benefit of

joining the “Kindness Club.”You’ll soon notice how muchnicer others are responding toyou! Have you ever noticed whenyou smile at someone, they oftensmile back? That’s becausewhen you send out positive feel-ings, it makes others feel good, and your positive persona willbe reflected back. So, don’t wait to become a

member of the “Kindness Club,”Dear Friend. It’s the one placeeveryone belongs, no mattertheir finances or status. And youcan be sure God’s loving-kind-ness will smile upon you whenyou join!

How Can We Best Follow TheLord’s Lesson Of Kindness?

He leadeth me, O blessed thought!O words with heav’nly comfort fraught!Whate’er I do, where’er I beStill ’tis God’s Hand that leadeth me.

Refrain:He leadeth me, He leadeth me,By His own Hand He leadeth me;His faithful foll’wer I would be,For by His Hand He leadeth me.

Sometimes ’mid scenes of deepest gloom,Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom,By waters still, o’er troubled sea,Still ’tis His Hand that leadeth me.Lord, I would place my hand in Thine,Nor ever murmur nor repine;Content, whatever lot I see,Since ’tis my God that leadeth me.And when my task on earth is done,When by Thy grace the vict’ry’s won,E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee,Since God through Jordan leadeth me.

Some Members have inquiredabout how they might make abequest to Life-Study Fellowship.Through the years, many

Members have chosen to remem-ber our Fellowship in this spe-cial way and we are truly grate-ful. Some Members have includ-ed Fellowship in their wills, while others have named Life-Study Fellowship in their lifeinsurance policies. If you are interested in making

arrangements through your will,we suggest you talk with anattorney who can explain the taxadvantages and ways to go aboutmaking such a bequest.

Please remember that it is toeverybody’s advantage to have awill. This doesn’t apply just tothe very wealthy. The truth iseveryone who owns any propertyneeds a will to direct who shouldbenefit. Otherwise, some or all of your

property will be split up accord-ing to state law, which may leaveyour property in ways you didnot want or intend. Therefore, whether or not you

include a bequest to Life-StudyFellowship, we encourage you toseek the services of an attorneyto have a will drawn up if youhave not already done so.

I am 77 years old and havebeen reading your faithMagazine for a long time. WhenI was 15 years old, my grand-mother’s niece was in the TBhospital. She went in when shewas 10 and got out when she was15. She had a Life-Study

Fellowship book that was full ofprayers, and I would read themto her. When she passed away, Igot the book. I enjoy reading it. When I got married, I lost the

God’s Loving Arms

Dear God,This is the first time ever That I've written You a letter, But I just had to thank You,Now that things are better. I came to You a while back so Troubled and distressed, I didn't know which way to go, What action would be best. So I told You all my troubles And felt Your presence near, Leading me and guiding me, My doubts seemed to disappear. So thank You, God, for listening And keeping me from harm, Wiping my tears and holding Me within Your loving Arms.

“If ye have faith as a grain ofmustard seed ... nothing shall beimpossible unto you.”

Matthew 17:20I wanted to believe those

words! For I was going throughsuch pain and agony. You see, Idiscovered that my husband hadbeen untrue to me throughoutmost of our marriage. Once Ifound out about it, he admittedthat it was true.He said I had a choice — I

could either divorce him orshare him with the otherwoman, making it clear hewould not give her up.Dear Members, I prayed about

what to do! I was so confusedthat I realized I had to count onGod for a solution. And He gaveme the strength to do what I hadto do. With my three small chil-dren, and a few belongings, I leftmy husband.“This isn’t going to be easy,” I

told myself, “but it’s the rightthing to move out and start anew life. I’ve got to have faith, asmuch faith as a tiny mustardseed, and then nothing will beimpossible for me!”The decision was made, and I

did not look back. The young-sters and I left and went to staywith my mother. There wasn’treally room for all of us in hersmall house, but she helped meto fix up the basement into a lit-tle apartment until I could getpermanently settled somewhereelse.

What a comfort it was to havemy Fellowship Friends prayingfor me and with me during thatperiod of great change. And Ilearned something so importantabout praying. I learned to bevery still as I talked with God.For He cannot work through aconfused and cluttered mind. Ilearned to sit, relax and be quietuntil I could feel His peaceful-ness surrounding me. And thenHis answers would always comein one way or another.Everything started falling into

place! I soon got a good job, andwe found a nice home wherethere was plenty of space for mychildren. And my faith growsstronger and stronger every day.I am sorry that my marriage

did not work, but I am deeplythankful that God gave me thehelp I needed to start anew andraise my youngsters in a happy, pleasant atmosphere where they, too, can learn that with faithnothing is impossible!
