HEAD OF TRADE MARKETING YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Head of TM is responsible for creation of actionable Trade & Channel strategy, plans & execution across the BCH business through the use of insight (Shopper/ Category) to deliver meaningful action plans that help establish BCH as 1st point of contact, or preferred partner for customers. He/she should lead sales analysis, execution, steering & direction (IE ROI modeling & planning) in conjunction with the head of Sales and category heads.
• Acts as a strategic interface between Marketing and Sales translating Brand Strategy into Category & Customer plans.
• Alignment of Channel Strategies & implementation plans to deliver sales growth with all significant customers.
• Lead initiatives to drive category management, cross-selling opportunities at all potential points of sale.
• Coordinate and control BTL-programs, POS-materials and trade communications at national / regional levels.
• Analysis & communication of results and sharing learning’s from local & global best practices for future improvements.
• Analyse the efficacy and profitability of the different promotional programs implemented, and makes recommendations that improve the point of sales strategies and plans in the future.
• Develop, & coordinate recommendation programs to ensure the appropriate recommendation of BCH Brands in store.
• Ensure investment decisions for promotions drive sales and market share growth without impacting on division net sales and contribution targets, by brand and by customer.
• In-store excellence standard development and knowledge dissemination within BCH.
• Develop, own and timely share knowledge of all channels within South African Market.

WHO YOU ARE Experience & Qualifications • Educated to degree standard: higher education, preferably university degree (in
Business related qualification).
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in OTC and/or FMCG industry with solid track record of success (including delivering on targets). Strategic thinking with a comprehensive category and retail customer knowledge are essential. Marketing, Sales and international experience are of advantage.
• Must possess broad understanding of the total business and the ability to work in cross functional environment.
Skills & Knowledge • High leadership qualities and skills, strong team development and interpersonal skills
and empowerment capacity (influencing without hierarchical authority).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capability to adapt to audience specifics.
• Local Language & English required.
• Solid understanding of the role of TM & Category a must, highly analytical and numerate, with attention to detail. Ability to understand utilize facts / data to build commercial arguments.
• Ability to identify, recruit and retain people with potential and deal with problem cases.
