The vocational training at a glance Locations
TasksConcretors build concrete and reinforced concrete constructions, e.g. for bridge constructions or hall and skyscraper constructions. They in- stall or fabricate formworks and scaffoldings, bend steel reinforce-ments and integrate those reinforcements into the formworks. They prepare concrete mixes or process ready-mixed concrete. The liquid concrete is brought into the formworks and compacted by tamping and vibrating. When the concrete is hardened, the concretors remove the formworks and if necessary, they work on the concrete surface. They assemble concrete components, seal concrete structures and insulate them. Furthermore, they repair concrete component damages.
SkillsThe calculation of demand for building materials, the calculation of sur-faces and the drawing up of the required measurements require good mathematical skills. Experience in the fields of crafts and technology make working with tools, machinery and devices easier. Beyond that, technical drawing skills are helpful when reading plans and drafts. Phy-sical knowledge is necessary in order to be able to calculate the charac-teristics of the material and to estimate the impact of forces properly.
Training Period The training period is 3 years and takes place in the company, the vo-cational school and in training centers.
QualificationCSE is required.
The vocational training as concretor takes place at our locations in Deggendorf and Jena.
