HEAD OF ARTS JURY François Duplat Founder and Managing Director Bel Air Media France

François Duplat started out in the film business in 1969, working for Louis Malle.In 1971 he became head of the Munich film distribution and production company Nef diffusion. He helped make known the works of young German filmmakers, such as Fassbinder’s The Merchant of four seasons and The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, as well as Aguirre: The Wrath of God by Werner Herzog, The Death of Maria Malibran by Werner Schroeter and The Goalkeeper’s Fear of the Penalty by Wim Wenders. In Germany he helped promote such examples of the new French cinema as Jean Eustache’s the Mother and the Whore and Mes petites amoureuses (‘My little Loves’) as well as Ariane Mnouchkine’s Moliere. Since then he has contributed to an increasingly close cinematic relationship between France and Germany. In Germany he has distributed such European productions as A chorus Line by Richard Attenborough, Three Men and a Cradle by Coline Serreau, Carmen by Carlos Saura, Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Francesco Rosi, Clean Up by Bertrand Tavernier, Rosa Luxemburg by Margarethe von Trotta, Cobra Verde by Werner Herzog, A Room with a view and Howard’s end by James Ivory, Damage by Louis Malle, Europa by Lars von Trier and Shallow Grave by Danny Boyle. He has co-produced films including Goodbye, children by Louis Malle, Reunion by Jerry Schatzberg, Dr M by Claude Chabrol and Queen Margot by Patrice Chéreau. He was also executive producer of Bryan Singer’s The Usual Suspects which won two Oscars. With his company Bel Air Media, founded in 1994, François Duplat produces TV and documentary works in the fields of music, opera and ballet. In 2004, he founded his own video publishing company, Bel Air Classiques.

HEAD OF SITCOM JURY Sophie Clarke Jervoise Managing Director Tiger Aspect United Kingdom

With an already impressive comedy and production background, Sophie joined Tiger Aspect as Head of Comedy in 2005. She was handed the responsibility for overseeing the company’s comedy activity; developing original programming as well as executive producing across all comedy productions.

Her most recent credits at Tiger Aspect are Benidorm (ITV1), Mount Pleasant (SKY Living), Bad Sugar (Channel 4), The Spa (SKY Living), Grandma’s House (BBC Two), Harry & Paul (BBC Two), Psychobitches (SKY Arts) and Little Crackers (SKY 1).

Sophie previously spent six years at the BBC where she became Head of Comedy in 2002. During that time she developed and executive produced series across all channels including My Family, Coupling, The Smoking Room, Help and My Life in Film.

She formerly worked as a freelance producer for Talkback where she produced Murder Most Horrid and Smith and Jones; and previously at Tiger Aspect where she produced Harry Enfield & Chums and Blackadder Back and Forth.

HEAD OF ENTERTAINMENT JURY Jörg Grabosch CEO and Co-Founder Brainpool Germany

Jörg Grabosch is the CEO and co-founder of BRAINPOOL and his duties involve being the Executive Producer of ‘TV Total’ events that are certainly diverse in range. These include the Wok World Championship, Stock Car Crash Challenge, Tower Jump, RTL Night show and, most notably, the 2011 and 2012 Eurovison Song Contest. Prior to founding BRAINPOOL, Jörg worked as a freelance editor for West German Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper and spent seven years as a writer and implementation specialist for WDR TV star and Deutsche Welle TV. After spending a year as Desk Manager at RIAS TV, he switched to the Hamburg-based pay-TV station Premiere as editor in chief in 1991, where Jörg - among other things - produced over 1,200 live broadcasts of the daily interview format ‘0137. ’ Later, with ‘0137 Night Talk,’ he developed the first interactive TV call-in show. In collaboration with Martin Keß and Ralf Günther, he founded BRAINPOOL development consulting and production company and had a hand in bringing ‘The Harald Schmidt Show,’ ‘The Weekly Show’ and ‘TV Total’ to television screens. With additional responsibilities involving the management of content, he became the CEO in December 2006. Together with host Stefan Raab, Jörg was awarded the Innovation Rose in 2012, a special prize acknowledging their outstanding contribution to entertainment television. The same year his co-production of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest won the Rose d’Or for best entertainment programme.

HEAD OF GAME SHOW JURY Remco Garcia Director of Entertainment Eyeworks NL BV Netherlands

After a successful tenure at Endemol as Production Manager from 1996 to 2000, Remco moved to Red Forest and in 2001 received a 'Mention Speciale' at the Rose d’Or for the programme 'De Hunt'. He joined Eyeworks, Netherlands in 2003 as Executive Producer, and was promoted Director of Entertainment in 2008. The same year he received the Rose d’Or Award for Best Entertainment Programme for ‘Hider in the House.’ Other achievements include being responsible for productions including ‘Test the Nation,’ ‘This Week’s Winner’ and ‘Off The Record.’ Between his two stints at Eyeworks he was Programme Manager of The Entertainment Group. As an all-round producer and developer, Remco has focused since 2008 on fostering an international collaboration and exchange with the different Eyeworks offices worldwide.

HEAD OF REALITY & FACTUAL JURY Indriena Basarah General Manager Asia FremantleMedia Indonesia

Indriena has more than twenty years experience in the Asia region television industry. With a dual Masters Degree in Communications and International Relations and a Bachelor of Journalism, she quickly demonstrated a winning track record in starting up companies and growing their businesses profitably. Her entrepreneurial and leadership skills set her apart and resulted in the growth of FremantleMedia’s Asia’s business. She started her career as a programming executive in SCTV – one of the leading commercial terrestrial channels in Indonesia. SCTV was then at its embryonic stage. She played a key role in launching the channel and then expanding its network to become one of the leading broadcasters in the country. She was later promoted and became the youngest executive board member responsible for programming and operations. Indriena joined FremantleMedia in 1997 and first took the responsibility as General Manager Indonesia and helped set the company’s operating foundations in that country. With this market successfully attained, she then broadened her scope to develop businesses Asia-wide. Playing a key role in expanding the company’s presence in Asia by bringing some of the strongest FremantleMedia global brands including Family Feud, Price Is Right, Idol, X Factor and Got Talent to the region, Indriena has her hands full. FremantleMedia currently has five Asian offices (India, China, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand), and is currently busy producing more than 30 titles across the regions. She has served on juries at the Television Asia Awards (five consecutive years), and is a regular speaker in various broadcasting forums in the region.

HEAD OF COMEDY JURY Kelly Luegenbiehl Vice President, Domestic and International Comedy Development ABC Entertainment Group United States

Head of the Comedy Jury for the Rose d’Or Awards, Vice President, Domestic and International Comedy Development at the ABC Entertainment Group, Kelly Luegenbiehl is based in the United States. Kelly oversees the development of ABC’s primetime comedy series working with writers and producers from the moment the pitch is bought right through to the first season. In her international role she heads up the search for international comedy talent and comedy formats in all territories abroad. Some of the shows she has been directly responsible for include ABC’s new fall comedy series ‘The Neighbors’ and ‘How to Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life),’ as well as ‘Suburgatory,’ ‘Last Man Standing’ and ‘The Middle,’ which is entering its fourth season. She was also on the team that developed ‘Modern Family.’ Kelly is also currently developing the formats ‘Spy’ and ‘Pulling’ for US audiences as well as developing ‘Bad Management’ with UK-based Sharon Horgan and Holly Walsh.

Prior to joining ABC, Kelly worked for Bravo as Manager of Development and Production, where she won a Primetime Emmy Award for her work on Kathy Griffin’s ‘My Life on the D-List.’ Other series developed at Bravo included ‘Millionaire Matchmaker,’ ‘Work Out’ and ‘Flipping Out.’ In 2010 Kelly was selected as one of The Hollywood Reporter’s ‘Top 35 Executives under 35,’ and in 2011 Variety profiled her in their inaugural list of ‘Hollywood’s New Leaders.’
