February is the month marked by many as the season of love. Already the store shelves
are lined with innumerable heart-shaped boxes of chocolate delights and roses in all
colors. Couples dine at candle-lit tables and look lovingly into each others eyes. Words of
affection are spoken, hands touch softly, hugs and kisses are given. But then, it's all
over! On to the next holiday! Back to the grind of work and worry; stress and
exhaustion. Frustrations of life now surface in angry words and actions dumped on the
ones we love. Why is that? Why can't we love all the time and express it in words and
actions that build and uplift; encourage and give hope? Believe it or not, we can! Consider
these truths about genuine love:
1) Genuine Love Comes From God...He Is The Source! If we're not daily in communion with
our God - who IS love, we will not possess love ourselves (I John 4: 7-8).
2) Genuine Love Is Not Based On Feeling! When love is based on feelings it will fluctuate
up & down, back and forth. Love based on feeling is often selfish - "If you love me first,
I'll love you back!"
3) Genuine Love Is A Daily Choice! Jesus chose to love us "while we were yet in sin," and
came & died on a cross on our behalf. We didn't deserve His love and we certainly didn't
earn it! He chose to give His love! We too must choose to daily love others even when
they may choose to be unloving!
Enjoy this season of love, but make it a season that lasts all your life long! Love God with
all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and love you spouse, your family, your friends, and
even your enemies ("your neighbor") as yourself. So, go-ahead...buy the candy &
flowers! Go out on a date! Spend quality time listening & talking! But do it all out of the
love nurtured in relationship with God. Choose to love first (put others first...) as God first
loved you! When love is expressed in this way and in this order, true fulfillment will follow.
May God Bless You & Have A Good Day! Pastor Louis
We started in 2008 a great childrens
program called, JungleKidz. The
children are taught lessons from the
bible in a way they can relate to, make
crafts, have snacks and sing songs. The
ages vary each week but we are certain
to have something for children of all
ages. They are presently
getting ready to do an Easter
Program. We are very proud
of our children!!
The Christian men of our
community would like to
invite the men of our
church to join them each
Wednesday morning from
8:00-9:00am for fellowship
and breakfast at Robinsons Restaurant on
441. Just a reminder that the men of the
church also meet monthly when the Ladies
have their meeting at the church. We would
love to see you there!

The church is in need of
volunteers in the following areas:
Children, Nursery, Children, Nursery,
Youth, MusicYouth, Music
If you feel God calling you to
any one of these ministries and have a
heart to please God, please contact the
Pastor.
The ladies next meeting will be
February 24 at 7:00pm. This
night will be the time to turn in
your pigs for the “Pig Pickin”
contest. The men will judge
who had the best dressed pig
and who has collected the most in their piggy
banks. The money collected from the piggy
banks will help support future projects in the
Ladies Ministry. Please see upcoming
announcements for dates and times of new
events happening this year!
Please remember our missionaries in your
prayers & monthly support. They sacrifice
so much for the kingdom of God and do
such an awesome job spreading his love!

The church is undergoing construction of the stage to make
better improvements so everyone can have access to the
platform. Because it is not safe, please do not go on stage
until it is completed! Thank you for being patient with us
during this renovation! We are also working on getting a new
screen & projector to enhance the worship experience for
everyone so we are excited about this happening very soon!
We are planning several outreach projects this
year. Our first will be held, February 21, at Kit
Nelson Park in Apopka to reach out to the
homeless in the area by handing out food,
supplies and clothing. Plan now to bring in
items for this outreach! Matthew 25:35-40
If you are interested in volunteering, please
contact the church office.
"Be my Valentine."We all want to hear that phrase.
It simply means "you are loved." I am here to tell you that you are loved.
God loves you and wants you to be His Valentine.
The love that God gives us is not like the world's love.
The World's love is as sturdy as the paper that most Valentine cards are made of.
God's Love is not a flimsy cheap imitation. It is the real thing.
It is an all giving love that was and is willing to suffer and die for our deliverance.
Will you be God's Valentine? It is your choice. Say yes and return in kind the love that God first gave you.
And when you do, remember the first Valentine and the way he gave everything, including his life, to the God he loved.

Lent is almost here……
Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, comes on
February 25, 2009. We Christians observe Lent
for 40 days (excluding Sundays) to examine our
spiritual condition and to strive to improve our
relationship with God. Lent is also a period of
spiritual preparation for Easter Sunday, the
greatest day on the Christian calendar. During
Lent most churches have additional church services
and some offer special bible studies or classes in
strengthening the spiritual life. It is a good time
to study the life of a great Christian from the
past and the ways that person developed closeness
to God.
It’s important that each Christian practice
spiritual disciplines to “show that you are a letter
of Christ.. written not with ink but with the Spirit
of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on
tablets of human hearts” (2 Corinthians 3:3,
NRSV)
