�e Future Health Research and Innovation Scholarship was created in 2015 for the purpose of fosteringawareness in health research and/or innovation at the IWK and to recognize outstanding Grade 12 studentsin the Maritimes who have demonstrated an early interest in health related research and/or innovation.

OVERVIEW

To be considered for one of three Future Health Research and Innovation Scholarships, you must be a Grade 12 student in the Maritimes with a minimum average of 75% and must intend on continuing your education at a Maritime post-secondary institution (college or university) in a �eld that will enhance research and/or innovation in health care.

ELIGIBILITY

Cover Letter: Tell us about yourself ! Why are you interested in a particular area of health research and/or innovation? Be speci�c and tell us how your post-secondary education will help you pusue a research goal. (1-page max; double spaced; 12pt font)

Essay: �is is where you tell us about your research passion! Using scienti�c evidence tell us about (1.) the speci�c area of health research and/or innovation you would like to pursue, and (2.) how your research and/or innovation could potentially contribute to the health and well-being of children, women and families in the Maritimes. (3-page max; double spaced, 12pt font)

References: �is is where other people can tell us a bit about you! Please provide one Academic Reference (e.g. a teacher who can speak to your marks and school performance) and one Character Reference (e.g. a coach or boss who can speak to sportsmanship or work ethic). (1-page max; double-spaced; 12pt font)

Transcripts: Finally, please provide one copy each of your Grade 11 transcript and you Grade 12 transcript (in progress).

Awards will be issued as follows: One in Nova Scotia, One in New Brunswick, and One in Prince Edward Island
