A big gap between the current client experience and where we need to be

The key issue

Approx 1.2M unique visits to worksafe.vic.gov.au every year

• only 53% of them report they can successfully complete their ‘task’

But ‘satisfaction’ is at 65% - maybe our screens look pretty?!

• a website will never be perfect for everyone but we must aim for >80% satisfaction

Our online audience is growing and we haven’t kept up with their expectations (including a growing expectation to ‘transact’)

• Respondents employed at companies with 21-99 employees were most satisfied overall, with nearly three-quarters (72%) indicating they were either satisfied or very satisfied.

• One-fifth (20%) of respondents from companies with 1-4 employees were either dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with the website overall.

Contributing to this situation

• A very inflexible platform – recently fixed

• Current site launched in 2005

• Fragmented landscape with no comprehensive plan or architecture for our online activity

• Owners of these properties are numerous and operate largely independently of one another

• New platform (Squiz). Migration completed July ‘12• Incremental improvements to current site – redesigns and new content

development with a much greater emphasis on understanding key tasks and ‘user journeys’.

• Avoiding the temptation to simply replicate offline content into our online environment

Remake of Dangerous Goods (Storage and Handling) Regulations

• New Regulations will commence on 1 December

• Review and update of the Code of Practice for the Storage and Handling of Dangerous Goods has commenced

• 1st draft of the Code has been provided to key stakeholders for comment

• Proposed Code of Practice will be made available for public comment in February 2013

• Code of Practice is on track to be finalised mid April 2013
