Energy Pod Launched in CERC, UHL January 24th 2020

An energy pod has been installed in the library at CERC to provide a secure rest facility for staff and help them overcome fatigue and stress.

This is a pilot project co-funded by the HSE Library and the National Doctors Training and Planning (NDTP). It is supported by the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland.

The purpose of this project is to provide a rest facility to doctors, nurses and other clinical staff, particularly those working on the night shift. The hospital library is accessible 24/7 to all staff and students who have swipe cards.

All staff are welcome and encouraged to try out the pod for themselves.

The Social Determinants of Health Ireland Conference 2020, was held in Limerick at the CERC on February 27th.

With the aim to bringing people from a wide range of organisations together, there was a lively discussion on the various factors that influence health.

With a diverse range of local, national and international guest speakers and attendees it was the perfect opportunity for the Health Sciences Academy to network and share the aims and objectives of the HSA.
