The Story Behind Hara Chair

Mr Kim's motive of designing a chair was borne out of his desire to create a chair that moves with the body and is based on the theory ofbalance and movement.

In l-ching, it is only with the constant movement of heaven and earththat there is life. The traditional chair is a non-moving product, and a living person sitting on a non-moving chair brings aboutcorpulence and "death". Thus, the philosophy behind the Hara Chairwas for it to move with the human being, so that the two moving elements promote balance and life.

The paper clip was named the best invention of the 20th century, as it does its job of holding together pieces of paper and yet when the paper clip is removed, it does not damage the papers.

The same goes for the Hara Chair - when it's "combined" with the human and when it's separate from the human, there is no detrimental effect on the human. The Hara Chair's birth was greatly inspired by the above "philosophies" and was continuously improved upon till 2006 when Mr Kim "perfected" the chair.

"Hara"is the traditional / ancient Korean word for "Sun", which suggests life and energy.

Chairs can make a great difference to a room. With many colors and textures as well as designs, they can enhance the look and feel of decoration. So far, the attention has been limited only to appearance and texture while the functionality of chairs has been neglected.

Good chairs should satisfy both functional and external needs. Traditional chairs consist of three parts: legs, a base, and a back support.

A single base design is not sufficient to distribute the weight of an upper body efficiently for it causes back pain, twisted spine, and pelvic misalignment.

Haratech has created a chair with twin bases that can distribute the weight of the upper body efficiently. The bases can be adjusted to fit and support pelvis. This along with the space between the bases can provide better air and blood circulation in anal area to prevent possible spinal and anal problems…

The base of a chair is separated in two and designed based on a human body science to fit pelvic structure. The chair can be adjusted to give comfort to the body.

The genuine mechanism of Harachair allows easy adjustment of the base of a chair to give comfort.
