Heany Park Primary School Newsletter October 10 2019 Edition 16 From the Principal’s Desk Welcome back to term 4, how fast does time go! We hope you had a wonderful holiday. PREP 2020 We wish to express a warm welcome to our Prep 2020 students. The transition program begins on 16 October. All enrolled students are invited to come along at 2:30 – 3:30pm. Each week we have a parent education session and also some time for you to all get to know each other on this new journey. SCHOOL ENROLMENTS in 2020 – workforce planning If your child is leaving Heany Park PS in 2020 or if you have a new enrolment for a sibling entering Prep, please contact the office ASAP or email to let us know. CLASS PLACEMENTS IN 2020 In term 4 we commence the process of organising students into classes for 2020. Students are asked to name six students who they work well with and empower each other’s learning. Teachers use this along with their knowledge of students’ academic, social and emotional skills to place students into class groupings that they believe will maximise learning for all. School is a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to work with diverse people, learning to be open minded, view things from multiple perspectives and tolerate differences. Students are encouraged to problem solve to resolve conflict and find solutions to meet the needs of the group. If you have any information that you would like us to take into account when forming class groups and allocating teachers, please let us know by 31 October. We would like this in writing by email or letter, addressed as ‘Confidential for The Principal Team’. Please do not expect us to use information from past years as we would hope that any prior issues are now resolved as children mature and grow and overcome any differences.
