Hearing Devices are available for hearing impaired. CARENOTES ARE HERE! We invite you to take a look at our kiosk in the back of the Gathering Space for a selection of CareNotes. There are several to assist us in coping with life’s daily struggles as well as spiritual needs. We hope to keep these available to you at all times and hope that you find them helpful and relevant. We plan to have a selection of CareNotes for Lent. Contact Marti Barnes, Pastoral Associate with any questions or comments. TRAM Food Pantry Items of the Month - The items of the month for February are cereal and canned soup. Please place in the TRAM cabinet in the Gathering Space. It’s not too late to join us and learn more about your faith. All are welcome for the second half of the Catechism! Call Beth Scholl @941-3661 x15 We are offering a new approach to Baptismal preparation that will offer individual consideration for each family. When a family is expecting a baby or has a newborn or young child, we ask that you call the parish office and speak to Marti Barnes, our Pastoral Associate. After giving her some preliminary information, a time to meet for the preparation session can be scheduled at everyone’s convenience. We would hope that both parents would be in attendance. Some families find that scheduling the baptism preparation session is more convenient before the baby is born. It is up to each individual family. Godparents are also invited to attend if they so choose. For the baptism, there must be at least one godparent. If there are two godparents they must be one male and one female. The godparents must be at least 16 years of age, fully initiated into the Church (Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist), and actively practicing their faith. If the parents select a person baptized in another Christian faith tradition, that person would not be recorded as godparent, but as a Christian witness for the child’s baptism. If you have already attended a baptism preparation class with an older child, here or elsewhere, it will not be necessary to attend a baptism preparation again. You would simply call Marti Barnes and she will gather information from you and schedule the baptism. Father Umberg generally celebrates Baptism on Sundays following the 11:00 am Mass. Older children, beyond the age of 7 years, would probably be asked to go through the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation Adapted for Children). This decision would be made in consultation with the parents, Pastor, Pastoral Associate, and Director of Religious Education. These children would then be baptized, confirmed and receive Eucharist at the Easter Vigil. If you have any questions about Baptism, or the RCIA, please feel free to call Marti Barnes. She is in the office most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. You can reach her at 513-941-3661x12 or [email protected] Mass Times during Inclement Weather In order to keep you and our community safe during severe winter weather, we will cancel our weekday Masses whenever the Three River school system is canceled. Are you age 70 ½ and required by the IRS to take annual distributions from your IRA account? If so, you may consider making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA account directly to the church. QCD will satisfy your annual contribution requirement and will not be included in your taxable income for the year. This could be a great way to save taxes and financially support the church or your favorite charity. For more details on Qualified Charitable Distributions from your IRA account, please contact your tax advisor (we cannot give specific tax advice).

Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

In the first reading, Isaiah urges us in the name of the Lord to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and clothe the naked. If we do so, he assures us, the Lord will hear and answer our cries for help in time of need.
