INTRODUCTION
•This project explains how a single chip microcontroller can be used to analyze heart beat rate signals in real time
•The heart rate is measured by employing the pulse method that is blood flow in the finger
CONTENTS OF THIS PROJECTREGULATED POWER SUPPLYLEDLDRAMPLIFIER & FILTERMICROCONTROLLERBUFFER CIRCUITCLOCK CIRCUITLCD DISPLAY
REGULATED POWER SUPPLY
• It converts unregulated AC into a constant DC.
• Used in various amplifiers and oscillators
LED(Light Emmiting Diode)
LDR(Light Depending Resistor)
AMPLIFIER & FIILTER
• Amplifier is an electronic device that increases the power of a signal .
• Filters are used to separate the required frequency
MICROCONTROLLER• Microcontroller is a small computer
on a single integrated circuit.• It contains a
processer, memory,ADC&DAC ,registers.• It is used for performing specific
task.
BUFFER CIRCUIT• Buffer circuits are mainly used to avoid
disfunctionality of a circuit.• Delay matching.
CLOCK CIRCUIT
• This circuit produces a clock signal.• A pattern of pulses which repeats itself.
LCD DISPLAY
• A LCD is a electronic visual display.
• It is made up of many no.of segments filled with liquid crystals.
• Its low electrical power consumption enables it to be used in battery powered electronic equipment
When blood flows during the systolic stroke of the heart the finger gets its blood via radial artery of the arm
The blood flow into the finger can be sensed photo electrically using LDR
The photo current is converted into voltage and amplified by an operational amplifier
The microcontroller processes the signal and the heart rate is displayed using 7-segment display
DESCRIPTION
PROCESS
ADVANTAGES
• Portable• Low power consumption• Easy to use
APPLICATIONS
• Heart rate monitoring in fitness center • For athletes• In rural areas where medical facilities are
limited• Can check heart rate regularly in homes
CONCLUSION
• Hence this system measures heart rate of a human being in real time and in any place.
FUTURE SCOPE• Storing the heart rate in a memory.
• In old-age homes and hospitals.
