Heart of Ohio Chapter ___________________________Newsletter____________________________ Volume 12 issue 1 The Front End Q1 2015 Page 1 ================================================================ Page 1 of 6 Chairman’s Message Greetings, I Hope you all had a Great Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, St. Lucia Day or Ramadan. Another year is behind us and here’s hoping 2015 will be a great year for everyone. I am sure by now everyone is working on their cars getting them ready for the spring or having repairs and upgrades performed. We had planned to have a Christmas Party at the Bob McDorman museum in Canal Winchester but a combination of cost and availability of a good date resulted in cancellation of the event. Maybe next year! 2015 promises to be a busy year with several events already on the calendar. On January 17, Dino Lanno will host a judging school on his 1962 to include the frame glass and windows. On February 21, Shannon Urton will conduct a judging school on original vs. reproduction parts at Coughlin Chevrolet. March 28, HOO will host another judging school with a topic TBA and on April 12, the Heart of Ohio Chapter will conduct our annual Judging Meet at Coughlin Chevrolet. Please come out to our events if you can. If you have an idea for an event you would like please send it to Mike Treece or I and we will try to make it happen. If you would like to host a tour of your garage or shop let me know. Garage tours allow us to see how other folks store and work on their cars and I personally find them interesting. I always learn something! We have had a change in the leadership of the Judging Chairman’s roll. Richard Lomax has decided to step down due to increased responsibility at OSU and Mike Treece has accepted the position of judging co-chair along with Roger Zrimsek. I want to thank Richard for all he has done to help the club in the past and thank Mike for stepping up. Mike will now have 2 positions on the board as judging co-chair and events coordinator. On a personal note I have another surgery on my foot scheduled for February 12 th . I will be out of circulation for about 3 months but will try to make it to the Chapter meet. This hopefully will be my last surgery. Prayers appreciated I also want to thank everyone who has come out to the events in 2014 and encourage everyone to attend some events in 2015. Richard has a beautiful garage with lots of space and some great projects in the works!
Seminar at Proteam Corvettes – Napolean, OH- November.
Several members attended the annual seminar /meeting up in Napolean, Ohio. Proteam does a great job on hosting the event with coffee and lunch provided. Mike Treece does his typical outstanding job of setting up and doing registration. Thanks Mike!

Due to holiday schedule conflicts, there was no event held in December. The chapter is trying to plan an event at bob McDorman’s new museum in Canal Winchester in the near future. –editor

Mike has done a nice job on documenting the various frame changes on the C3 from 1968-1982.
Mid 1968 brace added.
1968-1979 cars with Automatic had bolted cross members.
1968 and later auto cars had no clutch shaft bracket.
1973 front impact bumper.
1974 Rear impact bracket.

At the end of 2014 we find HOO with 44 paid members. As of Dec 19 we have 18 members that have paid their membership for 2015. I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe NEW YEAR.
