Concept Core Elements
The Heathcote Dementia Village Proposal comprises three core elements.
1. Development of a dementia village facility and associated research and educational/training facilities in Heathcote, Victoria.
2. Development of Heathcote as a dementia friendly township, incorporating the use of dementia enabling environment principles.
3. Development of green care infrastructure and associated activities for people with dementia at various sites throughout the Loddon Campaspe Region of Victoria.

• Identify Champions• Form a steering group (key stakeholders)• Create an advisory group with people with dementia, alongside others such
as carers and family members of people with dementia, business owners, community groups, and schools
• Research and learn from existing Dementia Friendly Communities• Build on existing partnerships i.e. local councils, health organisations,
business organisations• Continue to be involved and work closely with the Heathcote Dementia
Village Steering Group • Create a ‘community owned and led’ not for profit organisation to spearhead
a Heathcote Dementia Alliance • Develop an action plan • Use the Heathcote Community Capacity Builders – a local trusted and proven
network – as advocates to promote an awareness and education program
