A beacon of British innovation, it was once the busiest airport terminal in Europe, handling9 million passengers a year.
Now, after half a century of service, the entire contents of Terminal One Heathrow will besold off as part of the airport’s upgrade programme, creating the opportunity for bidders toown a piece of aviation history.
The unprecedented disposal of assets will take place over a series of auctions and privatetreaty sales, starting with this auction sale on 21st April with the chance to secure more than250 lots of memorabilia, from iconic signage to artworks to furniture.
Whether it is your own personal airline check-in desk, a large Nothing to Declare customsdisplay or one of a large array of signs, from the main external Terminal One sign itself toilluminated signs for checking in, departure or arrival gates, this sale is for you.
You will even have the chance to acquire the landmark series of enamel murals by the Polishartist Stefan Knapp (1921-96), specially commissioned for the terminal in the 1950s.

A selection of lots will be made available to view at the auction venue from 1pm - 9pmFriday 20th April and the morning of the sale.
Prior to bidding all purchasers must complete registration in full, either online or in personat the auction event.
For the convenience of purchasers who are unable to attend the sale, the auctioneers willarrange to bid on their behalf without charge on receipt of written instructions prior to thesale on the understanding that no responsibility whatsoever is to rest with the auctioneers.Instructions must include details of lot numbers and limit of bids.

Payment may be made during the course of the sale as soon as the purchaser has boughttheir last lot. The balance of any account must be paid no later than 4pm Tuesday 24thApril 2018.
The purchaser will pay a Buyers Premium of 16% on the Hammer Price.
All lots will be subject to value added tax (VAT), at the standard rate of 20%, on the Hammerprice and Buyers premium.

Heathrow Terminal 1 “Iconic Memorabilia”!
Terminal HistoryTerminal 1 was designed by Frederick Gibberd and opened to passengers in 1968,and it was formally opened by Queen Elizabeth II in April 1969. At the time, Terminal1 was the biggest short-haul terminal of its kind in Western Europe.
After almost 47 years of service the final flight to ever depart from Terminal 1 wasBritish Airways BA970 to Hannover which departed at 21:15 on 29th June 2015.
