HEAVY DUTY INJECTION SOCK ANCHORMETHOD STATEMENT

1. Mark the entry points as specified by theengineer and drill to the correct lengthusing either a core drill or an SDS Maxhammer drill.

2. Ensure all debris is removed from theholes using a suitable air pump, thenspray with clean water to maximise groutadhesion, and facilitate a gradual andeven cure.

3. Screw the blanking plug into the end ofthe first HDS anchor, then insert into thehole. Additional component lengths arethen added by simply screwing themtogether.

4. Once the required length isachieved, fit the suppliedhose.

5. To mix the grout, add the appropriate amount of water first, then thepowder and mix well using a paddle, until a very fluid but creamy uniformconsistency is created. Always maintain the correct working ratio as per themanufacturer’s instructions.

6. Pour the mix into a pneumaticgrout gun connected toa compressor set to amaximum of 3 bar pressure.

7. Once ready to fill, slip aclamp over the exposedhose, then push fit the steelpipe into the open end.Switch on the compressorand proceed with pumping.

8. The HDS Sock Anchor system isback-filled, expanding the reinforcedmesh sock to completely fill any voids,providing a permanent cementitiousfixing to the surrounding masonry.

9. When the sock has beenfully inflated, milk groutgently runs from the anchorindicating that it’s full.

10. Maintaining the pressure at this stageforces the milk grout further into thesurrounding material and minimisesshrinkage. As it cures, the high-performance grout firmly secures thehelical bars to create a single structuralentity that resists shear, compressiveand tensile forces.

11. After a few minutes, fastenthe clamp before turningoff the compressor. It isadvisable to remove thehose from the threaded tube2-3 hours after installation.Wash any excess grout offwith clean water, then fill theholes with SureFill flexiblepointing mortar and colourmatch the masonry withSureStain.
