Helbling is able to integrate optical technology into complete electrical and mechanical systems. This means the customers receive the complete development from one source. The clients have different possibilities: On the one hand Helbling can conduct the whole technical development or, on the other hand Helbling just supports the client in a specific development phase e.g. with an optical simulation or with the development of a sensor or an optical system like a light guide or a lens system. Helbling engineers and physicists have experience in the latest state- of-the art simulation tools for optical development such as Light Tools, ZEMAX, Code V and Matlab. These tools are used to support our clients with tasks like: • • optic design of imaging and non-imaging optics as well as illumination systems • • specification of optical systems • • analysis and optimization of image quality and image aberrations • • optical analysis like optical tolerance analysis or stray light analysis The team of experienced engineers are skilled in almost all areas of optical development, covering the whole optical spectrum from ultraviolet to infrared. Some examples of our development projects are: • • camera systems • • spectral sensor systems for color- or gas- detection • • optic design of presence or motion detection sensors • • evaluation, definition and sourcing of optical parts like light sources, lenses, optical subassembly, filters or optoelectronic detectors • • specification of coatings • • light guides and fiber optics • • image and data processing • • fluorescence technologies and measurements • • optical distance measurement (triangulation, time-of-flight, 2D-vision) Helbling is also familiar with practical evaluation. The laboratory infrastructure for performing various tests, feasibility study, measurements, and all kinds of verification activities are well equipped. The infrastructure comprises of: light sources (lasers, LEDs), measurement equipment (e.g. high speed cameras, spectrometer, goniometer, and various sensors) for the whole optical spectrum as well as all kinds of optical, electrical and mechanical equipment. Technical knowledge is an essential requirement for the successful completion of a project.
