Dear All,
We were most grateful to Mark, Chris and Damian who came out to our
farm on 22nd July 2011 to rescue our daughter who, having been recently
diagnosed with epilepsy was having a breakthrough seizure which was just
going on and on! This seizure was so different from the previous seizures
she had endured thus far and we were incredibly scared. However, the
whole incident was carried out with such professionalism and care we will
a lways be hugely grateful to the team.
It was wonderful being able to travel with Victoria in the helicopter
especia lly as I had never been in one before, although, of course, I wish my
maiden voyage could have been in totally different circumstances! I clearly
remember Damian giving me the safety information, but am not at all
sure that any of it actually touched base with my daughter being loaded
into the helicopter!
Our destination was Exeter, where we arrived a mere 15 minutes after
taking off. By road it would have been a good hour! The icing on the
cake for Victoria when she recovered was having received “Ambrose” - now
renamed “Helibear”. She loves that bear and will a lways hold it dear to her
heart!
Victoria was discharged from hospital the following morning having had a
midnight snack of sandwiches at 2am!! She has not endured any further
seizures (touch wood).
Victoria was thrilled to meet her heroes and to thank them for their help
and “Helibear”. That goes from us, her family, also!
Thank you all so very much.
