Apply for a university ID card
By logging on to the Applicant Portal (studentrecords.glos.ac.uk) and uploading your photograph, or follow the links from www.glos.ac.uk/myglos. Try and do this before 5 September to ensure your ID card is ready for you to collect when you arrive.
Enrol online from 5 September
Follow the link at www.glos.ac.uk/myglos or head direct to www.glos.ac.uk/enrolment. If you’ve already used the Applicant Portal you should use the same password to access online enrolment.
IMPORTANT: Please enrol as soon as possible and within 14 days of the start of your course – a delay may impact the release of any financial support you may be entitled to.
Final Checklist
Amid the excitement and celebration of successfully achieving your place at the University of Gloucestershire, have you done a couple of the ‘essential’ things from the checklist in Handy Guide #1? Don’t panic, there’s still time!
Remember, before you arrive you need to:

• You will not receive any loan or grant payments until you have collected your university ID card, so the payment date will be at least 3-5 working days from the date published on your payment schedule from Student Finance. If you have any queries, please contact [email protected]
GOOD TO KNOW: Please carry this card with you on campus at all times. As well as giving you access to university facilities, your ID card allows you to borrow and reserve books from the library, and pay for photocopying and printing. You may also be asked to show it to security or a university staff member.

It also hosts our men’s and women’s rugby union teams. The Folley plays host to BUCS fixtures and, along with the sports field on our Park campus, it is the perfect place for a leisurely kickabout with friends or housemates.

Hop on the bus
The university inter-campus bus service (94U) operates between all three campuses and the Pittville Student Village, so it’s easy to get around.
You can’t miss our buses either; they’re fully branded with images of just some of our very talented students!
Local Stagecoach services are only £1.40 per journey with your student ID card for any journey in the Stagecoach West area (£3.00 on the N10 and N94 services).
Pick up a timetable in one of our reception areas or download the Stagecoach bus app to search for the 94U (university bus) timetable.
Annual bus pass offer
You can buy an annual bus pass for £350 which will be especially handy if you are travelling from Pittville Student Village to Park or Oxstalls campuses. This gives you unlimited travel on the inter-campus bus service as well as other local services – perfect for visits to other places in and around Gloucestershire.
Visit the online store to buy your annual bus pass: store.glos.ac.uk
Getting around
www.glos.ac.uk/myglos | fb.com/myglos2017 | #MyGlos2017
Get on your bike Cheltenham and Gloucester are great places for cycling as nowhere is too far away and the roads and cycle paths are fairly flat! Cycling is also one of the cheapest ways of getting around. Our campuses include both covered and open cycle racks so that you can lock up your bike before a lecture. Cheltenham town and Gloucester city centres also boast a significant number of cycle stands if you are popping into town.
Visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/cycling for more information about cycling in Gloucestershire and download some useful cycle maps.
TOP TIP: Visit our partners at www.gloucestershirebikeproject.co.uk for cheap, second-hand bikes. Perfect for getting to and from campus.
Catch a cab If you need a taxi in Cheltenham or Gloucester, please remember to specify the site (Park, Francis Close Hall, Hardwick, Oxstalls or Pittville). Here are a couple of taxi companies to help you out.
Cheltenham: • A2B: 01242 580580 • Andycars: 01242 262611• Starline: 01242 250250
Gloucester: • Gloucester Taxis: 01452 500880 • A Star Taxis: 01452 555222 • Associated Taxis: 01452 311700
Cars and parkingParking facilities at the university are extremely limited. If you’re living in halls, you aren’t allowed to bring cars as a condition of your tenancy (or any other motor vehicle). If you’re not in halls, we’d rather you didn’t use a car for travelling to and from the university. The university bus and flat cycle routes make it easy to live locally without the need for a car.
However, if you’re travelling from home or private rented accommodation and you do need to drive, you’ll need a permit to park on the university grounds between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Parking fees are as follows: • Student permits: £50 per annum. • Person with a disability: Blue Badge holders can apply for a free permit. • £1.50 per day: either using pre-bought ‘scratch-cards’ from the online store or the pay and display machine.
You can apply through the online store: www.glos.ac.uk/studentpermits
PLEASE NOTE: As we try to be good neighbours, we would discourage you from parking on residential streets surrounding our campuses.
We’re a community with sustainability at our heart. You can be involved in our sustainability culture, through your learning, development and life on campus. Check out www.glos.ac.uk/sustainability
REFECTORIES AND BARSFrom grabbing a warming morning coffee to an ice-cold drink, each campus offers a wide choice of food and drink. Find the latest information and offers on BaxterStorey’s (our catering provider) University of Gloucestershire website uog-catering.co.uk or download The Food Club app to make mobile payments and earn points.
FREE VOUCHERSHere are two vouchers for you to use during the first few weeks of term (valid until 20 October 2017). Please tear off and present to a member of staff when paying for your purchases.
