Hello and Welcome to

Pre-Primary !

The Pre-Primary students jumped straight in-

to 2018 by learning their new classroom rules

and routines, and how to be a good friend.

We are focusing on correct letter and number formation as well as learning the 43

sounds of the Soundwaves program and how to write them. We started the Step-

ping Stones Maths program and are reinforcing each new concept with hands on

learning experiences.

This year we are learning how to read and

write our Magic 100 Words starting with the

12 Golden Words. These sight words will help

us with our reading at school and at home,

where we have already begun counting our

reading nights!

Pre-Primary

Over the year we will be learning and ap-

plying our school’s values of Getting Along,

Organisation, Resilience, Persistence and

confidence through the You Can Do It! Pro-

gram. We will be able to use these values in

personal and academic development, and

to remind us that we can do anything as

long as we keep trying!

We have many teachers helping us learn and grow in 2018. We have begun our weekly Sport, Mandarin, Music and Art lessons and these will continue throughout

the year.

We are looking forward to many of this year’s events, including the Cross Country, Sports Carnival, Swimming Lessons and the

Book Week Parade.

We will be integrating areas of the curricu-lum during Integrated Learning sessions, where we will learn to transfer important information from one area of our brain to

the next.

2018 is going to be a busy

year, but most of all it will

be exciting and fun !
