1960S – CHANGING FACE OF THE JOB MARKET
JOB MARKET CHANGE / SUMMARY
• Jobs will come and go depending on what market conditions our for a business
• Many failures of business are align to businesses not adjusting to their market conditions
• All government need to have a balance approach to both taxation and spending
• United Nations needs to get back to its’ charter including bringing in oversight into foreign aid. Foreign aid is very important as part of helping emerging countries support better opportunities for their people.
• Fair trade deals need to be negotiating to ensure jobs are created in various countries
• More and more companies need to investment more into innovation (R&D spending) as part of managing their product lifecycles.
WHAT HAS BEEN CHANGING• Close to 50 years have past since the 1960s ended. Here are things in 2010s that are driving the job
market
• IoT – Internet of things is allowing for more monitoring of everyday events by either people or business
• Analytics – More and more decisions are driven by analytics including Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Automation – Robotics and 3-D Printing
• Productivity – Flexible Manufacturing, Modular Manufacturing, outsourcing
• Globalization – Emerging Markets
• Consumer demands – low cost products

• Millennials have the opportunity to re-shape their future by aligning education along with networking to both current and future career opportunities.
• Millennials need to treat their education like investment. If you are going to spend $25 to $50K for education then there needs to be payback for your investment
• Millennials need to develop soft skills in areas like interpersonal skills, critical thinking, time management and judgement
