S.M.A.R.T Project Management System
The S.M.A.R.T Project Management System was created by Stephane Seguin in 2006 based on 30 years of experience.
S.M.A.R.T: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely.
Communication
Each project is assigned to a Project Manager who acts as the main liaison between you and the Seguin Morris team (on-site & at the office). We take pride in providing you with regular status updates and progress reports. The same
consistency is expected when it comes to all written communication between you and our Project Managers. This value is at the core of the S.M.A.R.T project management system.
Time management
Our Project Managers are trained to handle the fast pace and demanding world of construction. Maximizing efficiency through the effective organization of resources is a top priority. As your main point of contact, your Project Manager is able to answer any question and handle any
challenge that may arise during the course of your project. Their focus is on keeping your project on schedule by visiting the field team on a regular basis and keeping you informed of any issues that could have an impact on achieving your objectives.
Documentation
Knowing the key details of the project plan and specifications is a prerequisite for our project management team. Every project plan is built using the same format and structure to ensure consistency and to make sure that all information is kept under the same system. This allows for
quick referencing, which improves response times and overall efficiency. The end result is your peace of mind in knowing that every detail of your project is well organized and is being kept up to date. As an additional precaution, we also back up all documents to an internal server.
Job Evaluation/Estimation
As part of our system, project managers will sit down with the estimating team to review the job estimate and get a complete briefing from our chief estimator. This includes a full review
of the plans and specifications as well as other relevant information that will give them a full understanding of the project before finalizing the rest of the documentation required for the Job Kit.
Job Kit
The Job Kit ensures that each step of the project has been properly planned, documented and transferred to the Seguin Morris Foreman at the job site. This includes copies of the plan, specification of the shop drawings, safety plan, and all other relevant information that must be shared between the Project Manager and the Foreman.
Why Is The Job Kit Important?«The devil is in the details throughout the lifecycle of your project and the Job Kit is a great tool for connecting the dots in many important situations. A major problem at most contracting firms is a lack of communication between the field and office. The Job Kit serves to improve communication, which is what sets Seguin Morris apart from other contractors.
Work In Progress (WIP) Reports – Customer-Supplier relationship
Each project has its own lifespan and the S.M.A.R.T project management system adapts to this reality. The senior management team coordinates several Work-In-Progress review meeting which allows us to proactively make any necessary corrections or adjustments before they have an impact on
timelines or budget. These are done at 25%, 50%, and 75% intervals throughout the project lifecycle. This also enables our senior management team to keep a finger on the pulse throughout the project and allows for group problem solving or feedback whenever it is required.

What Our Clients Like About Us
The project managers and developers who love working with Seguin Morris are hard-working, professionals who expect their suppliers to keep their promises and to care as much as they do about getting the job done right. Those who appreciate Seguin Morris’ Project Management & Estimation skills tend to be extremely busy people who are juggling multiple projects. They are tasked with managing the bid process, selecting sub-contractors and overseeing project
schedules/timelines. They like how we keep them informed throughout the process with regular WIP (work in progress) update reports. They don’t want to be told what to do, but they love to learn a few tricks along the way that they can use to speed up or improve their own project management process.
Our clients trust us to reduce the risk of their projects being delayed or going over budget. They know our sole purpose is to make their lives easier and to make them look good.”
