Helsekonsekvenser av klimaendringer &

3 gode og 3 dårlige nyheter…
De dårlige nyhetene:
1. Klimaendringene er allerede på vei
3. Klimaendringene har store og kan fåkatastrofale helsekonsekvenser
Hva skjer når vi endrer på balansen?
Potential tipping points
Costello - Managing the health effects
of climate change - Lancet 2009
Har klimaendringene helsekonsekvenser nå?
• Endra sykdomsbyrde
• Schistosomiasis
• Mygg-båren sykdom (dengue, malaria)
• Flått-båren sykdom
Estimated health effects of climatechange in 2000
• 5.5 million life years lost (disability-adjusted,
DALYs)
Hva kan vi forvente oss i framtida?
’Climate change is potentially the biggestglobal health threat in the 21st century.’
Costello - Managing the health effects
of climate change - Lancet 2009

‘The academic community has a crucial role in facing up to the challenge of climate change, the health consequences we shall bequeath to our children and grandchildren (panel 7), and in helping to inform and support a policy process that will challenge us all.’
