SHLOSHIM vISITATIOnSadly, we inform the congregation that Shula Saltzman Strassfield ז”ל, former wife of our Senior Rabbi Steven Saltzman ז”ל, recently passed away. The funeral service and burial took place in Queens, New York. Shula is buried next to her son Akiva.To give anyone who would want to personally express condolences to Shula’s surviving daughters, Leia and Shifra, the Library at our Synagogue will be open on Thursday September 6th between the hours of 8:00 and 9:30 p.m.On behalf of our entire congregation, I extend condolences to Leia, Shifra and to Shula’s entire family.Marilyn Sherman, President

Parashat Ki TavoDeuteronomy now moves toward its climax, invoking blessings on those who will be faithful to God's message and calling down a series of curses on those who would depart from the Torah's norms. The curses culminate in a warning, called the Tokhehah (Reproach), similar to the one found in the final parashah of Leviticus.
