Letter from the CASC President…

Happy New Year! What an exciting year we have planned! Hang on for

the ride - it should be a fun one!

Starting the year off on the right paw… we hosted our first herding tri-

als Jan. 12-13! It was an awesome weekend… especially the weather…

seventy degrees and perfect for trialing! The judges were super, guiding

us along the way. And most importantly… thanks to all that helped

support this event and kept it running so smoothly. Congratulations on

all the wonderful runs that earned Q’s and pretty ribbons!

We have had a lot of “firsts” within our club… Dec. 8-9, 2012, we held

the first ASCA rally trial in South Carolina. The turn out was great!

Thanks to all the CASC members and friends that helped to make these

events a success.

Coming in February, CASC will hold the first ASCA agility trials in

Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Our intention behind offering these

“South of the Border” events was to fulfill our club’s original intentions

of being a club to Aussie lovers in both of the Carolina states. To make

these events successful, we need everyone to share our messages, pro-

mote our events in a positive way, and most of all lend us your helping

hand. We are hoping to attract more aussie lovers to enjoy these events,

so share the word!

As we enter the new year, let us make our goal to keep our club active

and progressive. Mark your calendar for our first club meeting… Sun-

day, March 10, immediately after the CASC Tracking test awards and

lunch. Our agenda will include re-evaluation our show schedule and

making plans for our summer/fall events. Be there!

Or Herding Fun Days

And CASC Meetings...

Summer Shows...

CASC hosted three confor-

mation shows at Dogtown

Training Academy, in Bur-

lington, NC. We had new

exhibitors, some old tim-

ers… with a junior handler

or two... to make for a fun

weekend of showing!

Our dogs seem to do it

all! Members and

guests enjoyed watch-

ing their dogs turn on

to stock.

And for Halloween...

CASC hosted their annual Halloween Week-

end - three big days of Conformation, Agil-

ity, Rally, and Obedience! There is always

something for everyone with CASC! We

have great members, super food, and the

camaraderie that makes all the work seem

worthwhile. Thanks, all!

Did

Someone

say...

“RALLY”?

Whether it is in NC or SC, our rally exhibitors

know where the fun is! Our summer rally trials

were held at Oakridge Training Center

in Salisbury, NC. Lots of happy winners

here!

And, who cannot resist that sunrise

over the ocean! Wake up to sunshine

and blue skies… ready to Rally at our

Myrtle Beach Trials last December.

And… starting the 2013 year off with a

Bang with our first Herding Trials!

We did it! Thanks to Kelly Martin, Kathy Hartley, Kristina Sigmon,

Findley Vue Farms, great judges, and some amazing volunteers...

for making our herding weekend so much fun! The weather was

excellent! The dogs were awesome… as well as their handlers!

And, as always… we have the best food in town!

We had a good assortment of breeds, not only Aussies… and

some of them traveled

from as far away as New

York state! What wonderful

dogs we had participating,

especially at the higher lev-

els… gives us all incentive

to keep practicing the skills

that our dogs are so at-

tuned to.

Thanks to all the members

and guests that made our first ASCA herding trials such a huge

success. More fun in the future, I am sure!
