allow a family tradition of public service my father served as a police officer educating my

brother and I the importance of being an asset to others. I hope to be that accessible asset to

my neighbors. Being accessible to Miami Beach residence allows for conflict resolution.

How does your education and/or experience complement the powers and duties of the CityCommission?

My education and experience have led me to be aware of the importance on working towards

correcting environmental issues that affect our current living conditions. I have had the chance

to work with the USDA on ocean based vegetation issues. I have worked on different projects

affected the need for cleaner beaches. The impact we are facing with King tide. Refer Resume

Dear honorable Mayor and Commissioners',

I hope this letter finds you well. I would like to introduce myself;( Carely Hernandez) via this brief letter with aim of being considered for former Commissioner KristenRosen Gonzalez position of group IV. My family has been proud to call Miami Beach home for over 30 years. I have called Miami Beach my permanent home for over 18years. Being a loyal Miami Beach homeowner I can truly appreciate the Importance of civic duty to the community.

It is easy to choose and call Miami Beach home my family and I have enjoyed and loved our time here. The expectation to grow with the future improvements Invokes thedesire to remain residence. My mind set has always been that those invested in the area( residence) can better and truly advocate tirelessly for our city' s goals. Being along time resident has allowed for a birds eye view to the progress and the direction that has taken years to build on thanks to the leadership of past prodigious cityleaders setting the tone and path for the future. Miami Beach has a unique integrity that I have found to be what makes it desired tourist location. Miami Beach movestoward an evolving future and attempts to maintain its historical features.

My personal objective would be not to alter the current path but advance the scheme of inhabitant involvement and contribution something that this boundless city has ahead start on over other cities around the country not just in Florida. This is something that our current leaders such as yourselves should be gratified about.

Miami Beach is made up of three main components its residence, its infrastructure and its visitors; keeping these three components in mind is the best way to keep MiamiBeach a grand city. The residence need a safe environment to enjoy and develop their families. Keeping the education of our children and continuing the development ofresources to Miami Beach High school and Nautilus Middle school. Paying attention to the best way to bring concepts of environmentally friendly developments not onlyto our community common areas but, future residential developments. Maintaining a close eye on incoming developers and their concepts for the future of Miami Beachis important We need to make sure that those that come to conduct business in our home share the same common values as do we the residential community. Finally,those that come to visit and are temporary residences of Miami Beach our tourist; we want a safe fun space for these visitors we are welcoming them into our home andwant them to understand that as permanent residence we enjoy sharing our space and happiness.

I have seen this great city evolve into a superior place than it already was. Now ask not what my city has done for me but, what I have to offer my city. My education hasbeen of the scientific discipline mainly working with sustainability and the progression of communities in South Florida to develop availability to depleting resources andresearch. I currently have a Bachelor of Science in Biopharmaceutical with a minor in Biotechnology. Currently I am working toward a Doctorate of Pharmacy. Workingtowards this degree has allowed me to work closely with my community in a variation of retail pharmacies in Miami Beach allowing me to have day to day interaction withour neighbors. It has been so fulfilling and I hope to continue in both building a better Miami Beach through a strong commitment of civic duty and pride and love for mycity and neighbors. Miami Beach truly is a melting pot of diversification of religion and ethnicities that make the fabric of this growing and great place to live and workwhich we call home; Miami Beach.
