Shalom. The Ohr Chadash Religious School is pleased to cordially invite your family and friends, to our first Mitzvah Day Program to be held at Hillcrest Jewish Center on Sunday Morning, April 29th. This day will be completely devoted to giving to others. Instead of learning about Chesed (Kindness), we will actually perform acts of Chesed. From 9:00AM to 12:30PM we will all be engaged in projects focused on helping others. There will be programs for children aged four to ten, and other programs for those aged eleven to fifteen. The youngest group will make and decorate cookies for firefighters, they will write letters for American and Israeli soldiers and they will make signs for our three synagogues. Our oldest group will have a “loose change challenge” where they will explore and determine which organizations they choose to donate funds to and why. In addition they will help seniors in our community with technology issues (creating a Facebook account or learning to use a smartphone for example). Our last session will comprise all age groups, together with their parents and grandparents, working on a special program for the wonderful organization God's Love. Other parallel Mitzvah and Chesed programs will also be available during our different sessions.

Please join us, with your family, for this very special full Morning of Chesed. Ohr Chadash is also opening this program to the members and families of the three synagogues that make up the Ohr Chadash Religious School. We sincerely hope that everybody will be part of this very special program!
