2 • Hettinger Ram Sale 2020
To the buyers:
Welcome to the 2020 Hettinger Ram Sale! The North Dakota Lamb and Wool Producers Association has made every attempt to ensure a high-quality offering of purebred and commercial rams.
1. All rams have been sifted by a committee of three breeders and a veterinarian. Rams have been Elisa tested within 30 days of sale or are from current Brucella Ovis-free flocks.
2. All rams must originate from flocks that have been inspected and found free of foot rot.
3. Minimum weight and scrotal circumference: • Yearlings – 220 pounds and 32 centimeters • Lambs – 120 pounds and 30 centimeters
4. All animals must be bred and owned by the seller.
5. Registration papers and the cost of transfer are strictly between the buyer and seller.
6. All rams will be guaranteed breeders (ram lambs are not subject to guarantee in year of purchase). The guarantee is between buyer and seller.
7. Health papers will be available for out-of-state buyers.
8. The catalog is arranged in the sales order by breeds, then individual breeders. Ewes will sell first, then the rams. Ewes will be sold at gate cut.
9. Phone bids will be accepted by the Sale Committee and NDLWPA board members. See numbers below.
Please enjoy viewing this year’s consignments and visiting with your fellow sheep producers.
Sincerely,

Peterson Genelinks: These rams are the product of more than 15 years of combined genetics of Meat Merino/ Rambouillet/Columbia intensely linebred to bring out the strong points of each breed. Stud rams are selected from the top end of our North Dakota ram test entries. Our top end from the test always grade in the top 10% of all rams on test. Fleeces run 62 grade on the ewe flock. These are rams bred to put butts and meat into your lamb crop; essentially a fine-fleeced black sheep bred to gain with no grain, just pasture.
