Certified Firefighter/EMT FAST TRACKMinimum Requirements:

Must be between 19 and 36 years of ageMust not reach his/her thirty-sixth (36)

birthday before receiving the oath of officeTexas Commission on Fire Protection

Certification (FIRE) – Basic or HigherTexas Department of State Health Services

(EMT) Basic or HigherCompleted fifteen (15) accredited transferable

college hours with a grade of “C” or higherDriving Record: 2 or less moving violations in the

last 36 months

Firefighter TraineeMinimum Requirements:

Must be between 19 and 36 years of ageMust not reach his/her thirty-sixth (36)

birthday before receiving the oath of officeComplete sixty (60) accredited transferable

college hours with a grade of “C” or higher ORTwo (2) years of full time (active duty) militaryservice with an honorable dischargeDriving Record: 2 or less moving violations in the

last 36 months
