HHH HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM
• Academic/Elective Offerings – HHH will offer a diverse collection of courses in academics, career, technical, and elective areas. It is our goal to provide a rigorous
learning path that prepares each student for the future. Exceptional Student Education (ESE), Standard, Advanced, Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Enrollment and
Career-Technical Education certification programming will be available. A comprehensive course catalogue will be available in December 2020, courses subject to
change based on student interest.
• Elective Offerings – Students can choose elective courses that support their individual interests or post-secondary pathway. Based on student need, elective offerings
will include World Languages (ASL and Spanish), Music (Band/Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble), Chorus, 2D/3D and Digital Art, Digital Video Technology, Creative
Writing, Journalism (Yearbook), Theatre/Drama, Physical Education/HOPE/Weight Lifting, and Computer Education. A comprehensive course catalogue will be
available in December 2020, courses subject to change based on student interest.
• Academies – HHH will be launching three new academies for the 2021-2022 school year. Students may choose from the following during general academy open
registration dates:
• Academy of Future Healthcare Professionals – The electives in this academy will offer students and opportunity to explore careers in healthcare. Students will
be able to visit healthcare facilities, participate in shadowing rotations and gain real-world experiences in the medical field.
• Academy of Innovation in the Built Environment – The electives in this academy will provide a foundation in construction management, engineering and
project-based coursework designed to foster creative and innovative learning experiences.
• Academy of Leadership in Emerging Technologies – The electives in this academy will emphasize the use of emerging technologies and leadership,
entrepreneurial and technical skills needed to be successful in rapidly changing industries (robotics, drones, coding) using future technologies.
HHH HIGH SCHOOL
• Collegiate High School – HHH High School will offer one of only two Collegiate High School district
programs that will allow 9-12 grade students the ability to begin post-secondary dual enrollment coursework on-
site as well as at St. Johns River State College. Being a Program of Choice, students from all St. Johns County
Schools may take advantage of this opportunity.
• Athletics – Both Varsity and Junior Varsity fall, winter and spring programs will be available at the opening of
the 2021 – 2022 school year based on student interest. HHH is planning on offering a full battery of athletic
programs (football, volleyball, baseball, softball, swimming and diving, soccer, lacrosse, basketball, tennis, golf,
weightlifting, cross country, track and field, competitive cheer, competitive dance, and wrestling).

• Names are to be presented to the St. Johns County School Board for consideration only
• Local landmarks, regional names and connections to the community are appreciated
• No proprietary names can be used (i.e. World Golf, Slammer and Squire, Silverleaf, etc…)
• Top 5-8 school name suggestions will be selected based on committee recommendations from
survey
• School mascots must be different from any other district mascot
• Top 5-8 mascot suggestions will be selected based on committee recommendations from
survey
• Any HHH High School parent, guardian or student may be a part of the School Naming
Committee
REGIONAL INDUSTRY, HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY
• Horticulture – cattle, horses, stockyards and local fisheries
• Agriculture – citrus, cabbage, potatoes, indigo, rice and lumber
• Industry – Railroads, railway systems, steamboats, boatyards,
tourism and defense/ industrial/construction manufacturing
• Home of regional Timucuan and Tolomato Indian tribes
• Nation’s Oldest City with deep Spanish, Minorcan and English
lineage
• Home and birthplace of the Florida National Guard
• Site is in-between the two major river systems or “River
Valley” as described by John and William Bartram - St. Johns
River and the Intercoastal Waterway (Matanzas River,
Tolomato River and North River)
• Tocoi/Tocoi Creek– Landing on St. Johns River for commerce and freight and name
of creek
• Tolomato/Tolomato River – Indian Tribe from South Carolina, settled north of St.
Augustine. Regional connection and name of river north of St. Augustine
• Timucua/Timucuan – Reginal indigenous Indian population in NE Florida
• Steamboat Landing – Near Shands Bridge
• Bakersville – Located near 208 and Pacetti Road
• 12 Mile Swamp – Located between SR 16 and US 1
