8 Installation Notice: Grounding
For the better transmitting quality, all the devices must ground properly.
Using the power cord of three strands in order to ensure all devices’
grounds are connected together through the power cord. Get together
the whole grounds and connect to earth. Make sure the grounding
resistance is less than 3Ω in order to avoid the natural short with ground
directly; besides, avoid the interference. We suggest you use AC
constant voltage regulator or pure power. All the outlets have to be fixed
by screws and make sure they all connect well. Please refer to the
Figure (5).

PC 2
218
Attention:
1. The ground in the classroom has to connect to earth independently. It
is not allowed using the ground from power distribution room. Be ware;
avoid any type of touch between natural and ground in anywhere.
Normally, use a steel nail and copper plate to be the grounding material
and the electricity has to be grounded two meters deep. Make sure the
grounding resistance is less than 3Ω. Grounding improperly will cause
interference and worsen the qualities of video and audio.
2. Fire and natural’s outlet must design toward the same direction.
Always keep them on the fixed position. For example, if fire’s outlet is on
the left side, always keep it on the left side. Do not change it at all. If the
fire and natural do not design toward the same direction, it will cause
black shaking on the screen while broadcasting.
3. Demands on Phase
Normally, all computers have to connect to the same phase power while
working on the multimedia network system in order to get a better
efficiency. But if they can’t work on the same phrase power, make sure
each outlet has to meet step1 and step2 mentioned above.
Key points of power checking (Checking by multi-meter)
1. Ground check
a. Make sure the power center outlet is working and interflowing. If you
use multi-outlet, make sure the copper slice inside the outlet is
unloosened.
b. Turn off the main power and AVR
219
c. Turn on the multi-meter and change to “Ω” function on rotary switch.
d. Use two probes to plug in different ground outlet. (See the position C
at Figure (6))
e. If the number checked from multi-meter is zero, means the power is
grounded.
f. Do the step D and E repeatedly until you finish all the outlet check.
g. After check the outlets to be all grounded, check the main power in
the classroom does be grounded
2. Phase check
a. Turn on the main power and AVR. Turn on the multi-meter and
change to “voltage” function on rotary switch (at least AC 250V).
b. Use the two probes to plug in the A position of different outlets then
will get a VA (voltage).
c. Does the step again then will get a VB (voltage)?
Should be 0 voltage V
Fig. 6
(Outlet1) (Outlet2)
220
d. Take the 110V for example, if the VA equals zero and VB also equals
zero that means the two outlets have been connected correctly. But if VA
and VB equal 110V that means fire wire and natural wire are connecting
inversely. If VA equals zero and VB equals 220 or vice versa that means
the two outlets are in different phases.
e. Repeat the step b, c and d until finish all the outlets.
See the chart (7)
f. Please check in sequence. Over two rows, you can use extended
power cord to narrow the distance between two rows. The checking
sequence, please refer to chart (8).

Note: STP is shielded twisted pair cable, signal transmitted
symmetrically. The output signal sends in opposite polar in
parallel, which can decrease the noise interference.
CAT.5eClip method is TIA/EIA-568B; the inner ground must attached to
the RJ11 metal connector.
