As we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them; nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.”

PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Dear Comrades,
The Winter days were long and cold. Thank goodness
Spring is just around the corner.
Having just returned to the branch, I’m just catching
up with all the activities that have been happening.
Thanks to all the executive, volunteers and employees
that have been making sure things ran smoothly in my
absence.
I had an opportunity to attend a quarter auction
upstairs that was organized by Brenda & Shannon.
Wow! What a great event! Congratulations to both of
you for raising over $1,800 for the branch.
Horse Races, Queen of Hearts and Saturday Meat
Draws and dances are still quite popular and thanks to all
those volunteers who generously donate their time to
make these events successful.
Soon it will be time for golf. Look for the sign-up
sheet for the Chick Wright starting in May.
As always, our branch needs your support. Come out
and join in all the events, check out your calendar and
see you in the branch.

HOSPITAL VISITS
Just a reminder that when a Legion member goes to the
hospital, please have a member of the family call the bar
so that we may visit you. Also, please let us know when
you leave the hospital. It makes it easier on the commit-
tee. Call 519-752-6668.
CATERING NEWS
After almost a year of having no catering work for the
Legion, we are finally getting some. This means that we
will be looking for volunteers to work in the kitchen,
serving and cleaning. These catering jobs are what keeps
the Legion viable.
If you would like to help out and bring the Legion back
to a positive position, please call Lou Anne at 519-304-
1441.

BEREAVEMENT SERVICE BRANCH POLICY
When there is a death of a branch veteran or mem-
ber, it is the responsibility of the family to contact the
branch to request a Legion service if one is desired. A
notice providing the time and location of the service is
posted in the Ed Potter’s lounge at the legion to go
along with the notification given in the Brantford
Expositor.
The padre is contacted to arrange the service.

In order to make this event happen, we need volun-

clean up once or twice during the summer. A small
committee can make this a great event.

bulletin board or send me an email with any date you
could help out at [email protected].
Call 519-759-4568 if you have any questions or are
available to help out.
GRANT APPLICATIONS
There is funding available for some updates and ren-
ovations for Dunsdon Legion but we need some volun-
teers to help with the grant writing process and to assist
in the planning and preparation of the paperwork in the
process. If you have some time, interest in this or any
expertise in grant writing to help with this, we’d like to
hear from you.
