HIGH PERFORMANCE BEARINGS FOR CRANES THE GGB ADVANTAGE Bearing Expertise GGB bearing specialists have the tribological, material science and applications expertise to provide innovative solutions to even your most challenging specifications and operating conditions. Improved bearing life GGB bearings provide high wear and shock loads resistance for greater reliability and extended bearing life. In addition, their excellent low friction properties reduce power losses for improved equipment performance. Maintenance-free GGB bearings are self-lubricating, making them ideal for applications requiring long bearing life without continuous maintenance, as well as operating conditions with inadequate or no lubrication. Lower system cost GGB bearings reduce shaft costs by eliminating the need for hardening and grease paths. Their compact, one-piece construction also provides space and weight savings, and simplifies assembly. Environmental Greaseless, lead-free GGB bearings comply with increasingly stringent environmental regulations, such as the EU RoHS directive restricting the use of hazardous materials in electrical and electronic equipment. ©2013 GGB. HIGH PERFORMANCE BEARINGS FOR CRANES

GGB PRODUCTSThe following products are particularly well suited for crane applications:

DX®marginally lubricated bearings for grease- or oil-lubricated applications

provide optimum performance under relatively high loads and low

speeds, and are suitable for linear, oscillating and rotating movements.

They are available prefinished or machinable in a standard range of

cylindrical bushes, thrust washers and plates. Specials can be

made to order.

HSG™ filament wound, composite bearings provide static load

capacity of up to 60,000 psi, very good friction and wear properties,

and excellent resistance to shock, misalignment, chemicals

and contamination. They are available in inch and metric sizes and

various thicknesses. Specials can be made to order.

DP4™/DP4-B™ lead-free metal-polymer bearings, alternatives to our

DU®bearings, provide exceptionally good performance in oil-lubricated,

heavy-duty hydraulic applications. They also perform well dry under

light-duty conditions, particularly intermittent operation with reciprocating

and oscillating movements. DP4-B™ has an antimagnetic, corrosion-

resistant bronze backing. The materials are available in a broad

standard range of inch and metric sizes for cylindrical and flanged

bearings, thrust washers and plates. Specials can be made to order.

They also are used in crane

shackle insulators for the marine

and off-shore oil industries. Other

applications include lock arrow

cranes and trailer cranes; scissor

lifts; cabin lifts and timber

grapples for forestry cranes; and

accessories such as cable winches

and lever blocks for hand hoists.

Manufacturers of cranes and related equipment rely on our

metal-polymer and filament wound bearings for their durability

and maintenance-free properties, which provide both superior

performance and lower cost of ownership.

Our metal-polymer bearings offer exceptionally low friction and

high wear resistance under a wide range of loads, speeds and

temperatures, with or without external lubrication. Our filament

wound bearings provide high load capabilities, good impact

resistance, low wear rate and high elasticity modulus. In

addition, they do not swell from moisture absorption, and their

inert nature makes them suitable for corrosive environments

such as seawater.

Our bearings can be found in a variety of applications, including

marine terminal equipment where they provide high load

capacity and resistance to shock, misalignment, chemicals

and contamination. Among the applications in which they are

used are port crane main arms; container crane pivots, hoists,

straddle carriers and hydraulic cylinders; and ship loader

bogies and unloader tilting points.
