Foreword from company founder and POWERMOON® inventor Dipl.-Ing. Jürgen Nölle.

The fi rm of Nölle IUT GmbH was founded in Berlin 21 years ago. A lot has happened since this time. In the meantime the headquarters of the fi rm has been moved to Rheinberg in North Rhine-Westphalia. Branches have been set up in Europe and new manufacturing locations in Poland, Portugal and the U.S.A. Throughout the world the company is owned 100 % by the Nölle family. Today we are a highly innovative team with more than 30 permanent employees and nearly three times as many free-lancers and assimilated agencies around the world. In this brief review what comes to mind for me apart from the Interschutz trade fairs of the last 5 years are a multitude of small and larger events which I can look back on as entrepreneur with satisfaction and: „Yes - that was fun and we were successful!“. Our company motto of realizing ideas, products and areas of business jointly with our custo-mers has made POWERMOON® not just a luminaire but world-wide a label for the provision of safe and reliable, gla-re-free light for fi re brigades, civil defence, the police, armed forces, construction industry, fi lm advertising and communication.

Our multiply patented spring-screen system has proven itself as a robust and glare-free balloon luminaire concept. But our successes to date give us the incentive to remain ahead technically and technologically! Accordingly we are presenting 4 product innovations. The currently brightest portable LED light systems which can keep up with the performance of HQI / metal halide lumi-naires without any problem. The new POWERMOON® LED-COMPACT, which as encapsulated balloon luminaire can be used as a mining, offshore and diving lamp. And what makes the usability of the new POWERMOON® LEDs still more favourable is the multiple voltage capability of the lamps. The new POWERMOON® LED ranges can be operated at any time and anywhere no matter whether the power source is battery, direct current or mains alternating current, whether 110 Volt (U.S.A.) or 230 Volt (EU).

In the fl oodlight segment POWERMOON offers the new range POWERMOON® LED-BEAM. Holding good here too as with the POWERMOON LED-MASTER range is the fundamental principle of offering safe lamps for the protective extra-low voltage area and with IP67 protected optional mini-ballasts realization of multi-voltage availability everywhere on location.

The new POWERMOON® LED-BEAM range is charac-terized by the very low unit weights of the fl oodlights cou-pled with the very highest ma-nufacturing and lighting quali-ty. Accordingly I trust and we will endeavour that POWER-MOON® and its customers will together remain a strong team.

Advantages of the new POWERMOON® LED rangesPunctually for the opening of Interschutz the well-known Powermoon balloon luminaire concept has been changed over to modern LED technology in all power ranges from 400W to 4000W. Accordingly for each previous POWERMOON® model there is now an equally bright or even more powerful new equivalent. The following holds good for each of the new high per-formance LED systems: Signifi cantly reduced current consumption at the same quantity of light emitted in lumens. And this together with the clearly reduced transport weights of the POWERMOON luminaires. On average the new LED technology permits savings of 30 % in weight and 25 - 35 % in connected load at the same light output.

Of special interest for rescue services: If generators are used for operating the new POWERMOON® LEDs, the gross connec-ted load is now the same as the net connected load. The reason: In contrast to metal halide luminaires, no extra generator capacity has to be taken into account for the reactive current. Thus, for example, 5 LEDMOON® 600 luminaires can be connected to one 3kVA power generator. The LEDMOON® 600 replaces without any trouble the previous Profi 1, 1000W HQI.

Encapsulated, dustproof and watertight. Ideally suited for use at the coast or at sea, for mining or offshore. The two protruding rubber rings serve as impact-protection for the polycarbonate glass cylinder. By turning the internally moun-ted diffuser, which is protected in the above manner from dirt and weather, a diffuse-radiating balloon luminaire can be realized from the all-round fl oodlight.

The POWERMOON® LED-BEAM fl oodlight range lamps have a watertight, super-light anodized aluminium housing with coo-ling ribs. The spotlight glass is of 5 mm thick, impact-resistant and UV-resistant polycarbonate. Each LED has its own optical diffuser or focussing refl ector. In this way the best possible aligned light fi eld in accurate brilliance can be achieved. The PO-WERMOON® LED-BEAM range - just as the POWERMOON® LED-MASTER range - has been designed as a direct current luminaire in the extra-low voltage area.A special feature: If the fl oodlight spots are operated via battery voltage direct from the mission vehicle, it is unimportant what the actual input voltage is. The POWERMOON® LED-BEAM luminaires always illuminate equally brightly and effi ciently regardless of whether the vehicle voltage is 12V or 24V.

The new and outstanding GRP telescopic tripod offers enormous advantages over conventional tripods. Th-rough the use of fi breglass-reinforced plastic (GRP) there is no corrosion so that the GRP telescopic tripod cannot rust. Similarly the bending of tripod segments is now a thing of the past since GRP always fi nds its way back to its original shape. In addition potential equalization (with an earth stake) is not necessary sin-ce GRP is electrically non-conducting. Thereby there is also no danger from rails or overhead power lines. With a weight of just 10kg at a maximum height of 4.70 metres the GRP telescopic tripod is one of the very lightest tripods available. In comparison with a nor-mal commercially available steel telescopic tripod our tripod is approx. 30 % lighter at the same maximum extended telescopic length. The „head“ is equipped with a DIN 14640 spigot and an integrated guy-rope triangle which enables guy lines to be attached direc-tly at the head to provide protection against the wind.
