Review the central truth, the memory verse, prayer and confessions, and read the Bible Story with scripture references indicated under the power outlets. As this is done each day, let your child color in or put a sticker on the power outlet located on the back of the devotional. At the end of the week please sign as proof of completion and return to the teacher. Children who complete 3 weeks Power Cords in a month will have their picture posted in the foyer of Power Source and their name in the newsletter.

God has no regard for those who do not honor Him

I Samuel 2:30b, “Those that honor me I will honor, and those that despise me I will lightly esteem.”

Father God,

Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron, and his family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is flowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great you are and how much I love you. I thank You that by Jesus’ stripes I am healed.

In Jesus' name,Amen

I will be subject to higher authorities. Romans 13:1

Because Jesus became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross; I will be obedient too. Philippians 2:8b

For I did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but I received the spirit of adoption by Whom I cry, “Abba Father”. Romans 8:15

As the sons of Eli the Priest, Hophni and Phineas had a place of honor in the temple, but they used their favor for their own selfish pleasures. God warned Eli that his boys had to obey the laws of God; if not, then God would have to deal with Eli and his sons. Even though he had been warned time and time again Eli did nothing about their sinful behavior; maybe he was afraid of losing their love and friendship. They continued to disobey and carried the Ark of the Covenant into battle using it like a good luck piece, but God is never manipulated by ungodly men. He is merciful, but cannot ignore justice. God would not let them get away with sin any longer. When we care more about what our friends think of us than what God tells us to do we honor those relationships more than we honor God. As God’s children we have a special place in His heart and He deserves the highest place in our hearts. God loves us all the same but His blessings come to those who honor Him with obedience.
