A Century of Experience in HV Test Equipment A Decade under the HIGHVOLT Logo

HIGHVOLT Prüftechnik Dresden GmbH,formed as an independent, flexible andinnovative company in 1995, continues acentury of experience of supplyingsystems, components and instrumentsfor HV testing and measurement fromDresden. This tradition was established byKoch & Sterzel in 1904 and carried on byTransformatoren- und Roentgenwerk (TuR)and SIEMENS.

HIGHVOLT is a member, since 2002, of theworldwide operating Reinhausen Groupwhich includes MaschinenfabrikReinhausen GmbH (MR).

HIGHVOLT’s product line varies fromcomponents and devices for the HV testtechnique to state-of-the-art custom-made system solutions and includes alsopower supplies for electric precipitators(electric filters, see figure on the right),electron beam and plasma technologies.

HIGHVOLT is a pioneer in the developmentof mobile AC test systems for ultra-highpower and voltage, mainly applied for on-site testing and diagnostics of cablesand GIS.

HIGHVOLT has reached a leading positionfor HV test equipment due to a combina-tion of traditional test equipment withmodern information technologies, com-puter applications and power electronics.

Traditionally the controls of HV test systems were separated frommeasuring devices such as partial discharge meters, capacitancemeters, dissipation factor meters or also for impulse voltages andcurrents. Nowadays, controls and measuring devices can beintegrated into one single computerized system only.

Stand-alone measuring devices aresupplied for • AC voltage measurement according

to IEC 60060 including peak value, peak by 2, rms value, shape factor,frequency and scope function;

• impulse voltage peak measurementaccording to IEC 61083 (full andtail-chopped impulses);

• AC current measurement inhigh-voltage circuits;

• transient voltage and currentmeasurement by digital recordersup to 200 MS/s and 14 bit;

• PD measurement according toIEC 60270;

• PD measurement according toIEC 60270 with high-end devices likePD fault location in cables,multi-channel systems for transformertesting, data processing, etc.;

• capacitance/dissipation factormeasurement including compressedgas standard capacitors.

Instead of stand-alone measuringdevices, recording-, measuring- andevaluation functions can be integratedinto a central computer, which alsocontrols the complete test system.Operation is via keyboard as standard.Optional, a separate device for manualoperation is available. The computer canbe connected to local informationsystems (LAN) and via Internet to theHIGHVOLT Service Centre.
